I was amazed to see that almost 37% of games bought on STEAM was NEVER played by its new owners... )))

I don't understand how some people spend their money.. If you're going to buy it, at least play it and find out if you like the game or not.

I have a lot of games through Humble Bundle that I don't plan on ever playing, so this isn't a surprise. Other games I bought were impulse buys because they were so cheap. I might play them, I might not.

It's a slippery slope man. I planned on playing most of the games in my backlog, but life happens and the next thing you know, you have a 480 game library and a massive amount of RPGs to get through.

So 37% of the customers money wasted on something they never intended to play/purchase just because of steam sales trick.

Or they just haven't gotten around to playing those games yet. I've only played about half of the games I've bought on Steam, but I'm still going to play all of them at some point.

All this number proves is that Steam users typically have a big backlog.

Sometimes there are bundles including a lot of games I know I wouldn't like. Why should I try those rather than just playing the 1 to 3 games that have been the reason to buy the bundle?

E.g. I bought the Humble Weekly Sale: Codemasters to get Dirt 3. The following games were also included in the bundle: Overlord, Overlord: Raising Hell, Rise of the Argonauts, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising and Operation Flashpoint: Red River. I have zero interest/fun in/with tactical shooters so why should I even try the Operation Flashpoint games? I may try the Overlord games if I find time, but I don't really plan to.

I played a 100% of my Steam games...

I have 3 (three) of them;

Empire: Total War
Napoleon: Total War
Rome II: Total War

Yep, only reason I have it was to activate the retail versions of these games. Can't fool me with your offers, Steam .

I buy many titles on sale and sit on them until I get time to play them. I also have purchased many bundles and didn't care for some of the games included... It sure creates a huge back log. Only if there was an easy way to delete some games to clean up my account.

You can clean it up by categorizing games

Yeah, I have set categories and usually have it only showing installed games.

That's why I will never use Steam. Buying on impulse is bad, you can have lots of games in your backlog but time in this life is limited. As it grows and grows you will never be able to finish it.

But you leave something for your kids and their kids to play. It's part of your legacy

And what if they don't like gaming? I would have wasted tons of money! Terrible idea .

Then you've failed as a parent and you deserve having wasted that money.

I have everything from games that came in massive bundles to games that I bought thinking it might be good, but turned out to be terrible and quit after half an hour. Steam really does get you to buy a lot of crap.
