Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why did the announcement of The Crew next gen parity not get nearly as much attention as the Trials Fusion disparity?

Parity is nothing special when it's just 1080p30. Whe had that before. Now if it were 1080p60 on both that would be news worthy.

Also parity at 1080p30 is a downer because it means PS4 isn't running at full potential. Trust me, this parity will be a big topic again if the X1 dips and the PS4 not ;)

Trials was hyped as an Xbox 360 arcade game in the past. It was built off of Microsoft hype. Any sequel will share in the benefits.

I noticed a few days ago The Crew was announced to be 1080P/30 FPS on both X1 and PS4 http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=798536

Today Trials Fusion was announced at 1080/60 on PS4 and 900/60 on X1. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=800427

Yet the Crew Announcement recieved staggeringly less attention. Only 9 pages thread on Neogaf for a 3+ days old thread, where the Trials resolution discussion has already surpassed that (10 pages so far) in a hour, and will continue to be swarmed for a good while I'm sure.

Actually I should say it's mostly Neogaf, this forum is not immune but it doesn't seem as bad. Neogaf is teh biased?

So people just like bad news for xbox or what?

How many pages can you get out of 'they're both the same'?

The PS5 Exists.

People like drama more.

These are not bad news for Xbone, these are normal news, as Xbone is an inferior piece of hardware and will never get parity, unless Devs want the game identical regardless of the power difference.

We should enjoy the Game experience, and leave this arguments.   The PS4 APU is significantly superior/better/more advanced than the APU of Xbone, and so the memory architecture, you have to live with that; there's no special sauce, PS4 is simply a more capable piece of hardware, with a better architecture and also more friendly to develop for;  MS did all wrong this time with the hardware, while Sony have learnt a lesson with PS3 and developed a very good system.

I can't believe some people here still speak about resolution differences and graphics/performance differences.   We all know PS4 is more powerful, so the difference is normal and we all should stop to waste space on these forums talking about obvious things.  Let's enjoy the games.

I think people are getting tired of the resolution arguments anyways. It's clear that the PS4 will have better looking multiplats this gen. We didn't have a discussion for every game that performed better on the 360 than the PS3.

This time around is not like PS3 vs 360.   PS3 and 360 have roughly the same power, simply 360 is more balanced and easier to develop for !

With PS4 VS Xbone, PS4 is BOTH significantly more powerful and also more friendly to develop for, it is so evident that we should leave this argument, we are just wasting space and time.

This is freakin' next gen. It isn't supposed to be news that a game runs in 1080p on X1. It's just embarrassing, and therefore more newsworthy, when it doesn't.

Xbox one is not at the same performance level as ps4, its not some conspiracy its just reality.

There has always been multiformat games that were designed around weaker hardware and are not optimised for stronger hardware. You only have to look at PC forums to see how many console games aren't enhanced for PC and see PC gamers complaining about it. I remember a huge number of PS2 games that were never enhanced for the original xbox despite having close to twice the memory, 3x the processing power, superior gpu and a built in hard drive yet many games looked the same. Multiformat games are often written with the lowest performing hardware in mind. Sometimes enhanced on stronger hardware but occasionally not.

The PS4 is already at a 70% market share advantage to xbox one. As the ps4 starts to dominate this generation it will be more critical for developers to maximise the ps4 performance level. So I think realistically for commercial reasons and technical reasons the ps4 performance level advantage over xbox one will widen.

Some ppl would rather keep the fake war alive. On this site as well. I've said it before but just look at some of the comments and slick digs

1080p 60fps is the peak performance standard for games this gen. 1080p 30fps is quite well within the technical capability of both consoles. Basically it isn't news if a game is 1080p 30fps.

It's news if a game is:
