This is such bullsh*t. Some crazy guy is crazy and people are making it out to be about 'atheism.' Don't slander atheism or portray us as people ready to 'attack Christians.'

There's legitimate religious attacks by sane people every day all over the world. This person was just crazy.

Yes because people don't "slander" religion (in the "news") all the time in order to get a rise either.

OT: He was most likely playing a video game like GTA shortly before this incident. Those games make you absolutely mad with murder.

Well, after the Sandy Hook murders, did anyone bring up the killer's religious beliefs? Why not mention every murderer's belief system?

Are you trying to disagree with the fact that religion is brought up as a main issue for many things in the news, even when it doesn't wholly apply to the topic at hand?

"Trying to disagree?" How about list one example of what the hell you're talking about. Like married 'Christian' lawmakers who vote against gay marriage for ruining the 'traditional family' on a religious basis and then get caught making out with their married staff members? Because I think it applies then. What are some examples where you feel it is inappropriate? Also, I don't care.

It's Florida, what do you expect? The only State where wearing a hoodie means you also need to wear a bullet proof vest.

Atheism can be many things but clearly its not a religion. For me atheism is about rejecting fantasy however appealing and accepting the hard reality of nature and evolution, not because I want to but because the evidence is compelling. Often atheism is portrayed by religious people as some sort of anger against god but of course no such anger exists because god is only a fictional fantasy figure to atheists. It would be like holding a grudge against the easter bunny.

Exactly. I dislike religious people trying to paint athiesm as a 'reaction against god.' I do not believe in god, I am not reacting against something I don't believe in.

Then they say it's 'Blind faith in science instead of god.'

I don't have -faith- that my cellphone works. It works because of science. Science is humanity's way of overcoming biases and our best way of discerning what really is through testing and the scientific method. I'm sure believers who get on an airplane have more than 'faith' that the plane can fly, they 'trust' that the plane can fly, which is much different and more substantial.

You can have all the 'faith' in the world in your religion, but believers and athiests are alike in that we 'trust' science. I know when I click 'submit' that it will be sent (barring an internet glitch, which would nevertheless still make sense) and you know when you click 'quote' that you will be able to reply. You have nothing but hope that when you pray, you are doing anything more than thinking inside your head. Claiming you 'know' there's a god can never be the same as me -stating- that I know that my phone works.

Science has real answers. Religion has empty promises.

They sure do over react alot over something that should be fantasy to them.

Are you sure you don't care? Because it seems you really got into trying to disprove me here.
