Atheism is a religion too.

Atheism can be many things but clearly its not a religion. For me atheism is about rejecting fantasy however appealing and accepting the hard reality of nature and evolution, not because I want to but because the evidence is compelling. Often atheism is portrayed by religious people as some sort of anger against god but of course no such anger exists because god is only a fictional fantasy figure to atheists. It would be like holding a grudge against the easter bunny.

Exactly. I dislike religious people trying to paint athiesm as a 'reaction against god.' I do not believe in god, I am not reacting against something I don't believe in.

Then they say it's 'Blind faith in science instead of god.'

I don't have -faith- that my cellphone works. It works because of science. Science is humanity's way of overcoming biases and our best way of discerning what really is through testing and the scientific method. I'm sure believers who get on an airplane have more than 'faith' that the plane can fly, they 'trust' that the plane can fly, which is much different and more substantial.

You can have all the 'faith' in the world in your religion, but believers and athiests are alike in that we 'trust' science. I know when I click 'submit' that it will be sent (barring an internet glitch, which would nevertheless still make sense) and you know when you click 'quote' that you will be able to reply. You have nothing but hope that when you pray, you are doing anything more than thinking inside your head. Claiming you 'know' there's a god can never be the same as me -stating- that I know that my phone works.

Science has real answers. Religion has empty promises.
