Resistance 3 has one of the best FPS campaigns ever.

I agree with this

Didn't play any one of them, I remember playing the PSP one thought, it was kind of fun.

I doubt many people play it regularly at this point. R3's strong point was its campaign.

I'm pretty sure everyone who says they don't enjoy the series has not played R3. Prove me wrong!

@Puggsly: R2 feels a bit different, more about taking down big enemies etc. so not as fast paced. R3 was amazing, and more based on what made R1 work.

I played a lot of R2 online. R3 campaign was vastly superior to R2, but its online was a big letdown with only 16 players after the 60 players on R2. About online, R2 was amazing with its big 60 player matches with several different classes of weapons. But in the last year, few people played it online. I personally stopped playing it online a while ago, not because I wanted too, but because it was hard to find good matches.

People are criticizing the series, but Resistance always had one big, big quality. Its weapons were the best and most creative ever made for a shooter. Every single shooter simply looks bland nd generic after you play with Augers, Wraiths, Bullseyes and Marksmans on Resistance.

I can't imagine that anyone was really playing these games online anymore. The Resistance series had great single player campaigns for an FPS but the multiplayer always felt like a step or two behind other modern shooters.

Thought this would have happened long ago. R2 was a great shooter but 3 was terrible.

Resistance & Halo are the rare shooter series where I actually complete the single player games (more often than not). I would be interested in a new Resistance for PS4, but I agreed with them giving it a break after the 3rd because franchise fatigue does set in.

I imagine even more for the creators than the players.

while i loved the settings and story of the offline the online wasnt anything great, i would love to see this world with a great online feature.

Resistance FOM is still one of my favorite PS3 Games. R2 was okay but adopted too much COD crap(two guns, health regen etc) R3 was pretty good but not as good as RFOM. Patches are supported forever as far las I can tell. Every time I pop in my copy of Orange box, the patch is downloaded and installed and that game is from 2007.

I never played Resistance online (played 1, a little of 2, and skipped 3) but hopefully fans were able to get $60 worth of fun out of the games. All I can say is get on there one more time and remember the good times. Send the game you loved out in style like Halo 2 players did back in the day.

This is what happens to aging games, they're not gonna keep those servers around forever.

Resistance 3 is less than 2.5 years old
