I know everyone it's not for me to decide what you should like, but I loved Uncharted so much it's even hard for me to understand !
Perhaps it does depend on the context we played it. Uncharted 1 was not just great, it was the very first PS3 game that really impressed me, that made the PS3 worth it. Everything was at the highest level of the console at this point of time. Not just superb graphics, but really the whole was so lively and detailed compared to other PS3 games, with very fine and different textures, excellent animations, water effects, backgrounds, shadows, etc. that made the game so real. For example, when you enter into the submarine, I was really impressed they built such an atmosphere. And then came Uncharted 2, and Uncharted 1 was like a draft compared to it. So much more environment, story, impressive scenes. Just my feeling ;)
Fallout 3. I tried to play it two to three times. Never got sucked into the world or story.
Rustuv said: oh, and Shadow of the Colossus. I haven't finished the game and it's well enough liked that I want to try, but god is not grabbing me. Run from here to here kill a boss travel through a barren wasteland with literally nothing in it... oh, wait a lizard yay... |
I'm so glad someone feels like me !
Also the boss looks were impressive, but I felt more like solving a puzzle (wich I'm very bad at) with only one solution than actually fighting with a giant boss. Even if everything in the game seems awesome and epic, except the first time I met a boss, I felt no epicness and only boredom. The very long travels, the absence of mid-save and the low framerate didn't help, making just the solving process even more boring, thinking "So... what the dev want me to do that I can't understand because it's blury, choppy and dark".
Don't think there's a popular game that I hate, but there are those I'm indifferent to or think are overrated.
1. GTA Series (just never got into it. I seem to only get excited at the technical achievements of each new iteration then lose interest).
2. Final Fantasy Crisis Core (I beat it. It was alright, but not all that)
3. Lots of people have already mentioned the Uncharted series. I actually think the games are really good, but SLIGHTLY overrated.
I'll post anymore that come to mind sooner or later. While we're at it, I also think that certain games have a slight edge (or lack of) when both we and the critics assess them simply because of the popularity (or lack thereof) of the characters. For example, I think that Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare would have had a slightly higher metascore if it was the exact same gameplay, but it was actually Toads vs Koopas. And this is coming from a Nintendo fan

Note: I didn't mention series like Assasin's Creed because while they may be commercially booming, they aren't getting undeserved critical praise.

Uncharted series. I tried, but I really can't get into it.
Assassin's Creed series; bought the first 4, played the first 2. Wasted money.

Titanfall,
Actually pretty much any FPS
GTA (all),
Assassins Creed (all),
Skyrim
Wow, this thread is full of amazing games that are disliked. Some real classics.
Sometimes I wonder if a game or film is presented to you as something amazing you can set your expectations too high and end up being disappointed.
