Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why can't console fans accept the PS4 is the most powerful console?

These past months, there have been countless debates regarding the power of the consoles. At this point, however, it seems crystal clear who the true winner is: THE PS4. Not only does this machine have much better specs all around but there has been overwhelming anecdotal evidence suggesting that a gap exists, so no further discussion should happen at this point. It has come to my attention, however, that passionate fans still can't comprehend that fact and are in a suspension of disbelief state.

So why does this happen? It seems users cling on to the past and don't let go. Can't they just accept the fact the PS4 is more powerful and move on? It seems that at this point people do not want to believe it anymore.

I am not going to give specific examples, but users just want proof after proof. We already had several multiplats that showed the power difference, but people keep asking for more. Likewise, specs are often brought up... as if we had not seen them several times already. This is just the stubbornness of the users that don't want to believe the PS4 is stronger than the X1.

Maybe things were different in the past, but this is not the 6th gen. The PS4 is more powerful. So I ask you, passionate Sony fans, that you finally accept the PS4 is the more powerful console and stop trying to discredit it. We all know it is hard to believe for you, and you constantly need new and updated evidence, day after day, but it is going to be better for all of us if you understand that fact.

...we might still be at stage 2

I've just about never seen a "passionate" PS fan doubt whether or not it is the most powerful console.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

do the xbox fans not believe it still?!? from where i'm sitting the conversation seems to have shifted from arguing performance numbers and architectures to asking if the visuals downgrades on xbone matter to the mainstream consumer.

meh, that's as involved in this conversation as i want to get. these threads bore me.

edit: you got me.  reread the OP and it's obvsious i skipped the last paragraph.   well played!

Still stage 1. Long way to go.

At release, each Playstation was the most powerful console that existed.

in 94/95 ps1 was the most poweful
ps2 in march 2000 was the most powerful
in 2006, ps3 was the most powerful.
and now ps4 is the most powerful console ever made.

It's really nothing new.

People will always not accept things. Like Stargate Universe fans. Weather you liked it or not. It caused the franchise to die off. People still put most of the blame on Sci-fi channel. Ratings determine a shows fate. The same goes with consoles stats. I honesly don't care what console was better. I want features and games.

cus all people dont like to praise sony consoles.

I thought people liked comparisons though. They went on for many years with ps360, but after a few months ps PS4/X1 people are already bored?
dont worry, with games like MGS, watch dogs and the witcher, im sure they will get more interesting.
