It seems to me that every day there is some Nintendo fan talking about Nintendo's Generation 9 console. Are you serious? Eight generation has BARELY begun (I consider the gen started only when all consoles are released) and you're talking about the Wii U's successor already? That can only mean all of you have already given up on the Wii U and couldn't give two shits about the system.
And then you compare that to the Sony fanbase. Waaaay back in 2006-07, when the PS3 was struggling, Sony fans were optmistic. "They will deliver the games, I'm sure!". Nobody, I repeat, NOBODY, was talking about the PS4 already. No, they were talking about Resistance, GoW3 (which we all knew would come), MGS4, Uncharted... Not speculating how or when the PS4 would come. The PlayStation fanbase couldn't care less about the successor yet, they were interested on the games for the current system. And Sony delivered it, and the PS3 has an extremely strong library with excellent first-party titles (some of the best of the gen!). Now, the Vita is a dying system, but PS fans are NOT arguing that Sony will turn the tables and win the next handheld generation: they know it's a dead system, most likely Sony's last handheld and that's it.
Nintendo's fanbase on the other hand, seem to live in a fantasy world (third-party devs are obviously evil and hate Nintendo, the personification of goodness). Instead of worrying about the games NOW, they create a million scenarios for Gen 9, all of them where Nintendo wins the gen. Forget that, Nintendo has already won the ninth generation! Fusing handheld and home console is GENIOUS. Never mind the fact we don't know if that's what they're actually doing or if it will work at all. Nintendo fans already want a new console by 2016.
Why don't you care about the present instead of having crazy and absurd ideas about the future?
