The One should never have launched with Kinect, it not only packs some fudge on the price; it also causes a bipolar image problem and has yet to be justified as a gaming device at all. I just can't imagine that people will want to pay 100$ more for voice commands in the OS and video chats you could have on any smart device already owned.

I really dont understand what MS were thinking or why some argue voice and snap is a reason to buy a console. Useless waste of resources and they are paying for it now.

How are those PS4 sales in a historical context? (Just a rough good or bad?)

Wii U makes anything look good.

Wii did about 245-250 on the same week in its first January, with supply issues. However, the global availability has to be taken into consideration. Overall, it's a pretty good week for the PS4 but not spectacular. PS3 did about 80k this week in its first Januray but still wasn't available in its strongest territory, so it's not unreasonable to think that it could have pulled 120-125k for this week with global availability..

I knew January would be fun. X1 almost reaching the doom,ed levels of WiiU and Vita in Europe :)

Can't wait for next week.

Pretty standard actually. Comparing USA and then Europe it falls in line with what 360, PS3, and Wii did their first Jans.

In 2008 when the PS3 was 399$ and available in both America and Europe, it did like 163k the same time in its 3rd week of January. It also seen a decrease each week in sales after the holidays until after its 3rd week of January.

It's a bit unfair because PS3 was also released in japan at the time and it had over a years worth of games in its library at the time but it's the best comparison that can be made. PS4 is doing very good and will level right here at around 145-150k each week from here on out(without Japan)

Yep, slowest time of year without japan 150k is very good. It's winning in every territory it's in cannot ask for more really.

Vita US, yikes.

Wii U and Vita are still not doing great, but each is up YOY. So... yay? Progress?

Wii U has the lineup to turn things around, but no release dates and weak marketing. Nintendo needs to get their marketing together. And new IPs please.

Vita could have a fighting chance if the slim is released at $150. It would be cheaper than the XL (which would make sense considering the quality of the libraries), and it would be an impulse buy as a PS4/Playstation now accessory.

Holy sh*t at those Vita US sales.
Wii U > 360. That's unexpected
Pretty bad numbers for the XBO in Europe

Everything else looks normal.

Those WIi U sales... how much more can my heart take?
