Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Iwata: Aye or nay? Time to vote.

Nintendo fans, what say you?

Nay! 91 30.85%

Simple. I always hear Nintendo supporters discuss whether Iwata is the right CEO or not. He did an amazing job with Wii and DS, dissapointing with 3DS and downright terrible with WiiU.

So simple question to know the majority's opinion. Iwata aye or nay?

No troll is too much for me to handle. I rehabilitate trolls, I train people. I am the Troll Whisperer.

i think he needs to go! i also think Myamoto should step down, or at least, not be in charge of most of the first party software

If he could allow NoA to advance and build up western devs I would say Aye. I think he's done a great job with them, although there's a lot of mistakes (one pretty darn major one as well). But seeing as the man doesn't recognise the western developers I have to say Nay.

I have to say Aye! Firing people isn't the only way to fix things.

i'd say Aye, it's rare to see a CEO actually understand that laying off devs isn't the solution and that giving them more confidence is, Iwata has that quality most likely because he was previously a game developer.
i mean, imagine you're a Nintendo dev and you're CEO defends you and doesn't want to fire you despite investors telling him to lay you off, going to the point that he cuts his own pay in half, how would you feel?

Im with Iwata-san. he does everything right. even if nobody cares about it

I think Iwata should be demoted with someone more hardware focused becoming the president of Nintendo. That way Iwata and Miyamoto (who are more software focused) can have a balance in their next consoles.

Nay. Terrible CEO.

I have no problem with him. He gives great working conditions to his workers and he has seen alot of sucess.

Actually, i dont see why any Nintendo fan would find a reason to complain about him. Because the Wii U is not doing as well as we thought? Seriously... its still beeing supported and thats what matters.
When they drop it like the Saturn or Dreamcast with SEGA, then theres reason to complain. For now, nope.

I still chuckle at people thinking they would see more sucess with a system that competes with PS and Xbox. All those divisions do is lose money for years.

I have to go with Aye. Flawed though he may be, there's really no-one to replace him. As i've said again and again, you'd either get a developer who would pursue esoteric gaming projects at the expense of business sense, or a "suit" who would focus-test everything to death.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
