Forums - Sales Discussion - Prediction: Second Son (PS4) Will Outsell Titanfall (Xbox One) in Lifetime

Not even close. Can VGChartz track digital downloads? If not then comparing is pointless. I know 3 people going digital for Titanfall.

What makes you think digital sales would be different than physical copies sold?  I'm not saying your wrong, but I was just wondering what your reasoning is.  Knowing 3 people who are going to buy the digital version of Titanfall isn't your only source of reasoning here, is it?

PS4 already has Infamous up for digital pre-order. it will be close, especially when you factor in europe.

Absolutely no chance in hell.

?? Why? If you factor europe it will be neck and neck, I can see infamous being the first big AAA exclusive on a better selling system outdoing TF. It won't be the landslide you are thinking.

You do realise that Infamous has never hit 3 million units sold on a console with 80 million installed, right? You're seriously trying to compete that with Microsofts next Gears of War/Halo/COD?

Again; not a chance in hell. That franchise will never have enough mainstream exposure to sell competitively.

metacritic will dictate that.

Irrelevant, This will be by far the biggest selling infamous, first one on a new gen (See resistance FOM) and titanfall has not sold anything ever, it's a new IP. Considering how clsoe they are int he US with infamous having 1 extra week, saying no chance in hell is foolish.

Infamous isn't a huge ip. Never has been. It will do pretty well because it has nothing else to go up against, but If it couldn't sell much to 80 million playstation fans, it won't set the world on fire to 5 million either... Titan fall is up in the air to me. If it goes any where near the popularity of cod, and gets the rep as the go to game for multiplayer, then it will do very well... Only time will tell...

Big shooters aren't dead after a year. Whether TF reaches that status or not, we'll see.

TF could always go to PS4 in 6 months or a year, too. Until the day that TF2 launches, we'll never know whether or not the first one is really coming to PS4.

I'm a PS4 person, but I don't think Infamous SS will outsell Titanfall.

Titanfall has some COD hype, and it's a 1st person shooter. Judging the sales of Infamous 1 and 2, I don't think Infamous SS will sell more than 4 million, unless Infamous SS is one of the best games EVER made (metacritic score 94 and above). I could see Titanfall getting close to 5 million lifetime, depending on how Xbox1 sells.

As for those predicting Titanfall selling 8+ million on Xbox1, the Xbox1 console may not have sold 13 million by the end of 2014. Currently, Xbox1 will probably sell 300-400k monthly (about 70-80k weekly) with a slight increase for a week or 2 around Titanfall release, and big increase around Nov-Dec.

I think the difference will be so negligible that only the biggest of fanboys will care.
