Thought it would be interesting to check out the next gen software on Amazon to see what people are ordering for that shiny new box they got under the tree. Maybe this can give us a clue whether more people got One's or PS4's.

The results right now (2 AM December 6 USA central time), slight edge to Xbox One!

Highest next gen title on the chart? Forza 5 at #16 (it's on sale though for 39.99)

2nd next gen title is BF4 PS4 at #34

Not far behind is One BF4, #36

#39, PS4 NFS Rivals

Then two One titles, Madden 25 #53, and Dead Rising 3 #55

Then two PS4 titles, Fifa 14 #57 and  Madden 25 #58

COD Ghosts for One is #63

COD Ghosts PS4 follows at #72

AC4 PS4 #74,  KZ: SF #76

NFS Rivals XBO is #83,  Ryse #87

And that is all the next gen software in the top 100.

I give the slight edge to One. It has the higher ranked version of Madden and COD, two of the most popular franchises, while PS4 wins AC4, BF4 and NFS Rivals. One also has the single highest title in Forza 5 at #16. One also has 7 software titles in the top 100 vs 6 for PS4. Only 1 PS4 exclusive vs 3 One exclusives.

Weird because the hardware sales shows PS4 at #21 and Xbone at #47 in the hourly updated list.

i'm not counting hardware sales because they just depend on latest shipments. same reason i didn't note controller sales, because those will just follow hardware sales from amazon, and ps4 recently got a huge shipment on amazon (it has taken all this time just to fall from #1 to 21 after that shipment).

i'm trying to see who got the most hardware under the tree (from any retailer) by software sales.

i think really it's basically a tie, but that's good for xbox since it is supposed to be outsold especially on the internet.

Well the hourly ranking changes everytime... so you can look at the 2013 ranking too...

PS4 is doing way better at Amazon... it is not a surprise for anybody. So if it is doing better then it looks best.

OP tried to show the software are selling better on Xbone but it is not.

But I understand why... after the Major Nelse "fastest selling console at week avg" I can see some guys here saying:

"Xbone was the fastest selling software console from 7pm to 8pm"
