Forums - Sony Discussion - Should Sony offer an Xbox style Dualshock 4?

http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2013/10/21/sony-tested-xbox-style-analog-stick-placement-for-dualshock-4-denied-wii-u-gamepad-analog-stick-setup/

When it comes to the analog sticks, Aoki continued, "We did test having the analog sticks on top, since the Xbox has the left side on top. Especially from the shooter teams - we got feedback that's what they wanted. They knew that consumers like the 360 for shooters."

The Dualshock 4 is a big leap above the Dualshock 3 and is above and beyond the greatest Playstation controller Sony has created. Some of my favorite new features include the headphone jack for listening to actual game audio, the touchpad, the larger overall comfortable design and the much improved triggers.

However, do you think it would benefit Sony to offer another iteration of the Dualshock 4 at retail, one that uses Microsofts asymmetric analog stick placement? I think alot of Xbox fans (myself included) have gotten accustomed to the placement and find it very comfortable and natural. I think Sony would be able to draw in a larger portion of the Xbox crowd if it offered this as a secondary controller option.

Why not.
I would love more than 1 1st party controller!

no they shouldnt. it would make using the touchpad really really awkward.

Please no.

BTW you can use the Xbone's controller on PS4 or vice-versa.

no just no. the controller is fine and x10 better then the one..

I really don't see the problem.
If it's made by sony and every 1st party feature is done right. Then what is the fucking problem?

I don't see how. But I do think itd be a tight fit to place the D-pad beneath the touchpad.

You need something like that.

Look at CronusMax.

The only issue you need to be wired connected via USB no bluethooth adpter yet (I expect some in the future).

But from a business and marketing perspective, you don't think It'd be a good idea for attracting the Xbox crowd? At worst, having multiple options never hurts. Theyd have an advantage because they'd have more to offer.
