Forums - Gaming Discussion - What If Nintendo Didn't Exist In First Place ? What Then Will Happened To The Gaming Industry ?

Tagged games:

I keep thinking about this question myself. What if Nintendo didn't exist in first place ? Would Sony and Microsoft make their own console ? Would Atari and SEGA start making more consoles ? Cause if i am not mistaken Nintendo is a huge inspiration when it comes to gaming, many company were inspired by Nintendo success thus leading them making their own consoles to compete with Nintendo. Which is why the Xbox & PS exist. Without Nintendo, these two consoles wouldn't been made at all. Also PC gaming would dominate in the gaming industry if Nintendo haven't come along.

The game Nintendo made like mario also inspired a lot of developer to make their own 2D & 3D platform games hence we got Crash Bandicoot,Spyro,Racthet & Clank and many other.

Don't know what to say more though but i like to see your theory based on this topic.

Correct me if what i said is wrong

What your opinion about it ?

How would Nintendo have evolved without Miyamoto?

''Hadouken!''

Game industry would be completely different. Sony got into the game business to supply Nintendo with chips, because that was going well they wanted to collaborate on a CD drive.

Without that fallout, the Playstation never happens. If the Playstation never happens then Microsoft never bothers to end the console biz either as they really only entered because Sony refused to use Windows on the Playstation.

That make a lot of sense. If only Sony would use Windows on the PS then all these fanboy consoles wars wouldn't have happened lol

We'd all be glorious PC Master Race gamers as home computers such as the Amiga wouldn't have seen such a huge decline in popularity for gaming and computers like the ZX Spectrum would probably have seen further iterations with increased power.

For those unfamiliar with the home "computer" market, this was alive and kicking right through the 80s and eventually fell off in the mid 90s as the SNES and Mega Drive dominated the gaming space and DOS and Windows became much more common platforms for gaming.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

The gaming universe literally wouldn't have existed any more. Coleco and Atari would have released new 8-bit consoles every 3 years until the market would have completely collapsed into nothingness. I don't think Sega alone could have turned the market around. It was the battle between Nintendo and Sega that pushed better technology to be developed.
