I'm starting to think GT6 was their backup plan if next-gen didn't take off as soon as it did, or if the Wii U ended up being a big holiday success that needed to be combated with big games on something even cheaper.

Since neither of those things ended up happening, GT6 is the casualty as they march full steam ahead with the PS4.

It won't sell 10m but it will still sell loads (Regardless of UK's first week - ever heard of legs? something Sony games are great at) and that is good profit for Sony since the PS3 engine for the game is already built. Unlike Capcom who will use profits from blockbuster games for mobile, Sony will take this profit and put it towards PS4 resources. It's a win win really. People who want and will buy this installment will help fund future projects of Sony games (Potentially GT7 on PS4)

PS4 doesn't need a GT to sell at launch when they are going to sell out anyways. The same reason why MS didn't put out a Halo for X1 launch. You don't put your biggest seller out on that system when your selling everything off the shelves anyways. GT is a system mover and it's better to have GT7 out for PS4 next year or the year after with a potential price cut or bundle.

I hope that GT5.1 (aka 6) will be a gicantic flop. They should seriously start working hard on a new, great game with realistic physics. Driving simulator without a car destructions is not a simulator.

I think they meant for it to come out a lot earlier than it did. It might be the first GT to do Forza numbers. Or at most, 8-9 million lifetime.

You should learn to drive and not crash constantly.Then you will see how great simulation it is.

Actually, why dont you look at the latest sales numbers. PS3 is outselling the PS4, except during launch weeks.

You should learn to drive a real car and see how awful this "simulation" is.
