I'm starting to think GT6 was their backup plan if next-gen didn't take off as soon as it did, or if the Wii U ended up being a big holiday success that needed to be combated with big games on something even cheaper.
Since neither of those things ended up happening, GT6 is the casualty as they march full steam ahead with the PS4.
