1.76 mil and 1.24 mil are flops? Especially considering that Corruption sold more in Europe than Metroid Prime had. In fact, if we consider how Super Metroid had real Japanese sales the Metroid series has grown in the other markets since the SNES era, with Other M and Prime III both selling more than Super Metroid, total, and especially in those regions.

Wii U



I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime. 

The NX will be a 900p machine

Why is 2DS separate from 3DS? They play the same games.

That's why other M was so different. NIntendo was already doing a partial reboot with the last installment, and it only sold most of that 1.24 number on half (or even lower) price.

Also remember that the increase of development funds needs higher sales just to make the same amount of profit.

What I see is that an innovative 10/10 game got initially high sales because of a variety of reasons. Then the series stablized to its baseline with echoes (1.33) and then it grew again with the higher install base of the Wii with Prime 3, and then it stabilized again with Other M (a relatively lackluster addition to the series.) All of these games sold more than Super Metroid. To use the words "flop" in this context is not only ridiculous, but deceitful and delusional.

I would love to see Metroid 5 on the 3DS in the style of Super Metroid, console Metroid needs a break.

They should do a Metroid game on 3DS and on Wii U.

Metroid Prime 4 on Wii U as an Action/Adventure FPS.
Metroid Fusion 2 on 3DS as a 2.5D Action/Adventure Sidescroller.

How about a top down view Metroid on 3DS? Could be something different. The combat could be something like Super Smash TV.
