not even remotely plausible. nintendo has too much money to need to make this move. nintendo will cut the wiiU short and try again OR move even more focus to handhelds.

...but a nintendo playstation alliance would be cool. sony takes home console hardware, nintendo takes handheld console hardware. both put first party support on the same devices. would be awesome as a consumer.

This honestly and I don't see Nintendo dropping the Wii U anytime soon, if Sony and Microsoft can take the losses they did and still see a purpose to go on Nintendo can handle it. Gaming is all they have, they have to get it right, and right now they are in a better position then Microsoft's and Sony's gaming divisions.

What if the change in platforms hinder the quality of their games?

Is this what has become of the once mighty Playstation fans? Pining for the death of a company who has weathered through worse than this and are still here. Hubris young and old Playstation fans, for the PS4 might be Sony's last console and then there will be topics like "What do you think of that Wii 3D exclusive *insert Sony IP*".

It would be a sad day if Nintendo stopped making home consoles but i think they try to be too different sometimes. Stuff like motion controls and dual screens on a handheld paid off but there's only so far you can go with all that. Also, there franchises may be brilliant but they need to make others. And after all this time, it would seem weird to see Mario or Zelda on a Playstation

I'd buy Nintendo games for the Sony's console any day. I'm the kind of person that a) doesn't buy all consoles in the market, b) only stays true to Sony (as long as they fulfill my needs as a gamer) and c) I was never fond of Nintendo home consoles EVER, but always liked their exclusives from an outsider view point.

It's easy to see how Nintendo exclusives would run so well on PS4 for example but it's very vague that happening. this because even if Nintendo drops the home console gaming, they will simply only support their portable consoles with their exclusives. Can't see them handing their popular games over to Sony's brand.

I would kill a baby, kill a puppy, kill a dolphin, get hit by a car, do drugs, play all Nintendo games from NES to Wii U, and then I would buy a PS4. 

If Nintendo games go to PC I would ignore all of the things above.

Part of me feels like a Nintendo/Microsoft alliance would make more sense business wise, but it would have to be more of a joint venture. It could theoretically get more support in the East and the West.

I would of course go where the games go, but it would be a sad day.

As far as cross overs go, I feel most Sony IPs don't lend themselves to it. Parrapa the Rapper in Rhythm Heaven would be fun, but that's more of a cameo thing. A good portion of the PSASBR cast would add a lot of variety to Smash Bros. as well.

Actually scratch that, the game we are all obviously waiting for is the one where Kratos tortures and kill all of the fun and charming characters from Kid Icarus: Uprising and then gets and arrow threw the head.
