So I wanted to make a thread with a poll for best PS3 exclusive since its time at the forefront is almost over.  However I found there were too many choices.  So I decided on some preliminary rounds in which the fans could narrow their favorite franchises down to one candidate to enter the finals.

So here is Infamous.  I'm going with Infamous 1.  I can't point to a single mechanic but god damn I just love the origin story.  The way they paced out your powers was perfect.  In the beginning you really couldn't do that much, but by the end of the game you're thowing down thunderbolts like Zeus.  It's a constant dangling carrot and just really gives you a sense of progress and power as you progress.  By the time I was zipping around and gliding through the skyline I felt real power and that wouldn't have happened if they had just given me flight right away like in DCUO.  Also the ending is a mindfuck.

I went Infamous 2. The extra polish the game has made it just slightly better, and I LOVE the atmosphere that "New Marais" provides.

Infamous 2. Cole himself moved around faster, started with a decent amount of powers that he ended with in the first game, and then as you progressed through the game he not only learned different powers and relearned powers like missile, but he learned several different types of each power that gave you more variety in how you wanted to play.

New Marais was also more detailed as a city than Empire City and the enemy types are less repetitive. Even though Infamous 2 doesn't have many boss battles in comparison to the original, the original where enemy types in each area are all mostly the same except for one enemy type in each area.

Even though the gameplay was mostly the same, the enhancements to this game made it far more enjoyable.

It's close, as I like both for different reasons. In the end i'll choose Infamous 2. Visuals much improved. Story improved. Gameplay tighter and more responsive.

Completely agree with everything you said. I also enjoyed the voice acting although I missed the voice of Cole from the first game.

Both were great. But, I voted for infamous 1 - the story drew me in a lot more than the second one.

Definitely inFamous 2. The first one was so disappointing, it took me until my day one purchase to the day before the second one released to finish it. It just wasn't a fun game. It actually gave me a headache.

inFamous 2, loved 1 but 2 just felt so much more refined more smooth it felt great.

Only played inFamous 2. Decent game, altough it didn't blew my mind.
