The first one is the worst, IMO, it's a game I can't play in current times. Not surprised to see Zelda 2 on the top, but I must say I don't get the hate for the game, it's a very good entry in the series, it's just different from the other Zeldas.

My opinion is similar. Although I am someone who only recently played both for the first time. I found Zelda 2 to be considerably better than the first one. Yes it was different, but it had some aspects to it that I wish the Zelda series was doing now.

1. Larger world
2. Many different towns
3. Epic Journey, and as you progressed you opened up shortcuts through the world to get from point A to (for example) point E without having to go through B, C, and D like you did the first time.
4. Real challenge, and great atmosphere as well. As someone above said, it is also the type of game you can get good at with practice, whereas other games a lot of it is just cheap difficult spots.
5. Experience based development - now I am conflicted on this, I do like the hearts and such and think it makes for better balance, but I would love some skills I could get better at. Honestly, I don't know how Nintendo could do it; Exp systems are usually more suited to turn-based games. Although I think it would be interesting if they found a good way to use the system.
6. Spells and skills, come on, these were just awesome!

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Around the Network

While Zelda is my all time favourite video game series, Twilight Princess is definitely a game that I felt missed the mark entirely and because of the it was my least favourite game in the series.
