Forums - Nintendo Discussion - What is your favorite GameCube game and why?

Mine would be Wind Waker, Melee, Tales of Symphonia, and Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. Can't really choose between these. All superb games.

I still need to play games like Pikmin and Metroid.

Resident Evil remake. Isn't it everyone's??

Metroid Prime, period. As much as I enjoyed that system, it's games were pretty much watered down N64 titles. Sunshine wasnt as innovative as Mario 64. Wind Waker wasn't as innovative as either OOT/MM. Double Dash wasn't the leap forward that MK 64 was. That's pretty much why that system failed so badly.

The only exceptions were Melee, Pikmin and Prime. Prime was my favorite out of those three because it was so immersive, serious and gritty. Exploring the world as Samus was such a joy and Retro nailed it.

Don't forget Wave Race: Blue Storm and 1080 Avalanche. Neither improved on their predecessors, and 1080 was probably worse.

F-Zero GX was fantastic though, better than X for sure.

resident evil remake, it was better in every way compare to the original.

If we go strictly by the amount of time played, then it's SSB Melee for me without a doubt. Had so much fun with that game with my highschool and college buddies.

After that, I think my favorite game would have to be PM: The Thousand Year Door, followed by Resident Evil 4, Eternal Darkness, and Timesplitters 2, with an honorable mention going to REmake and Metroid Prime.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, I played that game again and again. To this day it is the only non racing game I beat at EVERY difficulty level in it.

My favorite Nintendo Game Cube games are Super Smash Bros. Melee, Luigi's Mansion, Super Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime, Pikmin 2(I prefer this game over the first because I hate to be oppressed by a time limit), Metroid Prime 2 : Echoes, Pokemon Colosseum and Fire Emblem : Path of radiance. I had equally appreciated Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, The legend of Zelda : The Wind Waker(although it is clearly not my favorite game of the series), Warioworld, Pokemon XD and Mario Smash Football.

That's an easy one - Eternal Darkness. Just love how unique it was with the sanity meter and the story spanning thousnads of years. I normally don't put much stock in story but this game shows that a great story can actually help carry a game if it's well done enough. I'm a big ancient history buff so maybe that's why I appreciate the settings of this game so much.. I love the diversity of the environments and the creepy vibe it gives you without being over the top. The game mechanics aren't even that spectacular, but the narrative and the envionments are just so damn interesting, and that sanity meter really adds a lot as well, to the point where you tend to forget about the somewhat simplistic mechanics and fighting style.

Tales of Symphonia, F-Zero GX, and Smash Bros Melee get honorable mentions.

Wind Waker maybe Resident Evil maybe Resident Evil 4 maybe Thousand year Door maybe Tales of Symphonia I can't choose.
