You're betrayed by your own thread. You don't have numbers for Sony past 09/2012 and historically the PS3 has had a supply of 1.34 (2010) and 1.26 (2011) in september. You're own numbers show that Sony normally keeps a shorter supply of PS3s than Microsoft does 360s. But having a smaller supply doesn't mean it's hard to find, as your numbers show Sony usually had about a month and a halfs supply.
The 360 has averaged a supply of 1.44m between march 2012 and march 2013 (your most recent data). MS also had a supply of 2.14 this past march and not once since the 360 launched have they had a smaller supply in September than they did in March. Considering that this is it's final year as the primary console for Microsoft you can expect a dip in the supply, but by how much? Neither of us can know. So for you to come here and proclaim that there is no way it's what the numbers show is pretty ignorant.
My guess is there are around than 100,000 retail outlets that sell consoles around the world. I doubt the stocking average for retailers is 15 consoles per outlet. So I would expect a million or less to be the typical difference between shipped and sold. Less that 500K and there will be shortages in some places, more than 1.5 million and it's way too much stock to be carrying. So the current gap for the 360 is right at the edge of believability, which means it's probably out by several hundred K. So I reckon the true 360 sales is more like 79 - 79.5K

I think the system for tracking sales right now is really broken. Anyone knows that there in now way suppliers would have 1.55mil 360 lying around with X1 just around the corner. Also, we have heard nothing from Sony regarding PS3 even passing 80mil... My guess is both are still close to each other, and these adjustments are just pure guesswork right now...
