RolStoppable said: Be honest with yourselves, you want the troublemakers to come. Because if they don't, what are you going to do? You'll probably not care to post in the thread, because there is nothing interesting to say. That's why "I wonder how long it will take them to show up." posts exist. These forums thrive on conflict. Obviously, because when you think about it, there's hardly anything important happening in the world of video games. At best, there are a handful of notable events a year that last as a topic for a few days or a week. The other 48 weeks are filled with non-events and recycling of previous thread ideas. If someone stopped posting on VGC for a full year, then came back and asked what they missed, the answer would be: "Nothing, really." Most of the time, interesting threads must be created artificially, because the topics at hand are boring. Where would these forums be without the trolls and the pretenders? That's where we have to be honest with ourselves and admit that they are a necessary evil. Especially because many people come here to argue; and many others come here to just read some ridiculous arguments without participating themselves. If we only had to deal with reasonable and honest arguments, there wouldn't be many posts and discussions at all. So if someone says that they want all the troublemakers gone, they are probably lying. Consciously or subconsciously. But all that being said, every now and then there are people that need to be made gone for good, because they have no redeeming qualities whatsoever. |
@Bold Does this apply to the OP ?
