Forums - Sony Discussion - Year of Playstation Plus discounted to $40, possibly down to $35

If you have been looking for a way to get in on the benefits of Playstation Plus, such as free games for the PS3 andPS Vita and online multiplayer for the upcoming PS4,Rakuten.com (formerly Buy.com) may have the offer for you this week.

The 12-month Playstation Plus card is on sale atRakuten.com for $39.99 with free shipping available. However, the online retailer is also running a $10 off $50 promo code ("AUTUMN10"). This means you can buy another item to reach the $50 mark or buy two PS Pluscards for a total of $69.98. That makes the purchase $34.99 a card which is $15 off the regular $49.99 price.

A Playstation Plus subscription will be required to play online multiplayer games on the Playstation 4 with the exception of free-to-play games and MMOs depending on the publisher. However, it grants access to the Instant Game Collection on the Playstation 3 and PS Vita which contains a rotating collection of free games for both systems. The subscription also gives access to 1GB of cloud storage for game saves, automatic system updates, invites to exclusive betas, early access to demos and full game trials.

Damn that's cheap!

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

Anyone who's interested in being disappointed every month, with cheap indie titles and launch PSP games, then enjoy. Atleast if you live in the US. If you live in Europe, then subscribe.  Although if you live in Europe, this deal isn't for you.

Nice little find however i find it ridiculous that SONY is charging for Online now... It makes me sad.

I mostly play RTS and Moba style games now adays as well as ALOT of benchmarking. I do play other games however such as the witcher 3 and Crysis 3, and recently Ashes of the Singularity. I love gaming on the cutting edge and refuse to accept any compromises. Proud member of the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race. Long Live SHIO!!!!

I just got ICO and Rayman Origins, your argument is invalid.

You'll get some good games here and there.  Rarely.  Also Europe got Ico/SotC a few months ago as one game, because it is one game.  Not split in two different months so they can rob you like PS+ in the US.

Playing Far Cry 3, Dragon's Dogma DA, Street Fighter X Tekken all in just one month with two other games still untouched. No reason not to subscribe to PS+. The price is worth by just one month's offering.

To be fair you are correct, they are not currently charging for online - but what 1337 Gamer is refering to is the need for PS+ to play online on the PS4, which means they are charging for online for the PS4

This is a great deal though, for those who are more in the know than I am - if I were to purchase this while I already have a PS+ subscription until May would I be able to just add another year or would it be 1 year from when I activate it and therefore be better to wait until my current subscription ends?

Systems Currently Playing: WiiU, PS3, 3DS

Also Have: Atari 2600, NES, SNES, PS1, N64, PS2, Wii, GB, GBC, GBA, DSLite, DSi, Android (RazorMax), iPhone (4), iPad (2)

Great deal! But doesn't this site have a less than stellar reputation?
