While I never was a fan of the man as a CEO, he truly has passion for Microsoft. I like that.

well many people might not like him on the outside of Microsoft but one thing for sure he seems to be a really liked boss from the inside.... he seems adulated like a world class athlete in that stadium
I always liked the guy, I just didn't understand some of his decisions some times.... but I'm sure steering a company like MS is no easy task...
farewell Steve, your refreshing craziness on stage will be missed no matter what people think of you....
ballmer dancing?-i hope they played a song that fits in terms of shape and dancing skills,eg "Nelly, the elephant" or "dancing with tears in my eyes"
You have to admire the man for his passion for the company.
Say what you will, but the man has heart. I will miss his antics.

Actually, he's despised internally. There were literally people cracking champaign to celebrate at work when news broke that he was leaving.
The man, the myth, the legend. I always liked you Steve, you put your heart and soul into Microsoft! Enjoy retirement mate.
Is MS a business or a religion? I found the evangelicalism disturbing to watch in that video. MS are a company that 'sell stuff' but you wouldn't think that watching this bloated presentation. Power is a dangerous thing when taken too seriously.

Makes a hell of a lot more sense than "fans" of hardware companies idolising a CEO, it could even make more sense than idolising sporting heroes if you think about it.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with saying goodbye to a dedicated employee, but there are heartfelt ways of doing it and then there are evangelical ways of doing it. This felt less like a fond fairwell and more like an opportunity to promote MS. Tears, music, huge arenas, flashing lights and individual lights might convey emotion to some people, but only for those 'sentimentally' inclined who have been tutored by movies into needing cues. Real emotion isn't SOLD it's FELT.

Someone got the best of Ballmer videos up here... FTW!
