What?

Just having honest discussions as far as I can see. What specifically is the problem?

I apologize if you disagree with what I said or if I somehow offended you but as Ive been a big fan of TWD I feel i have just as much of a right to discuss things just as much as everybody else. I still like the show and am hoping it is better this season, but I wasnt happy with season 3.  Not like Im coming in here to bash it or something. And let's not start using a user created thread as something legit.

So the flood gates open? Is that what they are trying to say? The prison is broken? Do I see a cast on his hand?

What do you all make of the Governors exit? Thought that was soooo stupid. I hope breaking Bad and Dexters endings are not like that.

I almost hope they just forget about the governor now. But he will be back.

I hope Carl calms down and listens. Or I will hate him again.

Bold: Lol...TWD and BB are not even on the same level

Which is better ;o?

Breaking Bad fosho XD  Highest rated show of all time with a solid 99 rating for the 5th season.  Aaron Paul has won 2-3 emmy awards for it as well as Bryan Cranston.  But what truly makes the show shine is the fantastic writing.  Brilliant.

Walking Dead isnt as good as what it use to be...season 2 and more so season 3 were a bit lacking. When a zombie movie/series feels like its settled to a formula then it completely loses the plot. Thats why its pretty hard to do a post apocolyptic zombie tv series and keep it good over multiple series. A series like this should be written with 3 seasons in mind and then ended. That should account for good story and pacing throughout.

But then again almost every series loses something after the first few series...breaking bad included. Hell even game of thrones...

I guess I'm just pissed that Breaking Bad is ALWAYS brought up with every Walking Dead discussion. Not even the fact that people compare the two, but I just want a solid conversation without blending the two.

Maybe you should take that as a hint that you should watch it

I've watched 10 episodes: Season 1-2.4. While I definitely see the appeal, I don't find any of the characters likable or relatable.

Also, that doesn't justify injecting it into every conversation. I'm lashing out because this happens with me in real life as well. :/

hahahaha well that's true. I didn't bring it up btw, was just bouncing off spurge, though tbh I probably would have anyway. I think it's because a higher standard has been set by shows like BB and GOT, and the best way to put TWD's flaws into perspective is to draw comparison, and then this goes down the rabbit hole of conversation and before you know it TWD isn't even in the discussion anymore.

Let's talk TWD then, if you want. Have you read the comics? I'm really hoping S4 adopts the pacing of the comics or at least the first season, and corrects it's focus. The show to me is becoming what SO many post-apoc shows/movies become, a great idea not living up to it's potential. The settings are interesting, we have a solid group to follow etc. but there's too strong a focus on human drama, which for sure plays a huge role in something about the collapse of society, but I wish it didn't distract from, for example in season 2, the idea of self-sustainability on the farm, human invaders/looters, zombie attacks, the conflict between hershal and rick over the groups residency on the farm... this stuff was all present, but seemed secondary to a love triangle and a missing girl (except in that episode at the end of S2 when a horde attacks the farm, that was awesome). S3 seemed to be on the right track, it was brilliant for a while, but then it went out with a whimper when we were expecting  so much more. That said, I still like the show for what it is, and the season 4 trailer looked great, even had a few throwbacks to the comics.

Now we're talking.

I have read the comics, and I totally understand where you're coming from. The comics mainly had romance on the backburner and integrated into the story amongst leadership issues, humanity problems, internal vs external threats, etc. as events unfolded, much like real life does. The show's emphasis on such is for ratings and for the female fanbase, which I personally don't mind as much because I love all the couples on the show.

I definitely agree that Season 3's first half was stronger, but I thought the ending was actually a pretty good lead-up for next season. I'm banking on it all working in the grand scheme of things, but it's a wait and see approach, I guess.
