I wonder which version is the more popular one? Probably the PS3 one, although MMOs are more associated with PCs...
So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

After launch concurrent connections have reached a record number of 187,000 players connected at the same time (the previous record for a game operated by a Japanese company was 150,000 during the open beta of A Realm Reborn), and Square Enix expects that the numbers will grow further and will reach 200,000 in the near future. It’s notable that a MMORPG overtaking just after launch the numbers of its free open beta is a quite spectacular result.
I think they need to aim higher than 200k. |
I agree. I dont want to talk to soon without seeing the end-game but this game feels like the new WoW. Its difficult to point out any downsides without nit-picking. They have a really strong game here that appeals to everyone and has about everything aswell as loads of content for everyone. They just announced they will have massive content patches every three months and the sub for a single character is lower than other MMO's.
Its difficult not to dive in. The servers are packed with people and doesnt seem to be letting up since early acess.
This game definitly marks a second coming to the Final fantasy formula. I am completely hooked.
With so many classes, it'll be pretty tough to run through and max all jobs and classes.
Big picture, but my name is in a video game!

After the final boss.
It's a good game and without a doubt a massive step up from version 1.0, but I can't really find a reason to pay a monthly fee for this. It does everything well but also plays everything safe. When you're just playing everything safe, I don't really see a reason to pay a monthly fee.
Also, I'm upset that pretty much everything I see is an Arcanist or Summoner, I liked being one of the few SMN's in XI. :(
