Anyways hopefully it does well for those who want to enjoy the genre and game. |
Basil... go play the game before talking trash... seriously. The fact they remade it is great, because not only did they send the message that they care for their players but the remade game is actually amazing. Nothing like the original release.
On the contrary, it would be great if every failed MMO did this, because good products is what we as consumers deserve for our money.
And also, this has nothing to do with Dragon Quest X, wich like the 1.0 release of XIV is displace in time. ARR is a game that is here and tackling WoW and company head on.

2. You do realize the first version of this game failed? I dont see how that is talking trash...when it actually happened >_>. 3. I dont do MMOs anymore (unless a Pokemon one comes out made by Nintendo - which is bias I know but STILL) because I dont have the time to spend on them not because I dont like them, what makes you think a P2P MMO will encourage me? |
You are saying they shouldnt have made this, comparing it with DQX. Its nothing like it.
This is what they should've done and its a shame they cant do it for a game like FFXIII aswell. Though maybe thats what Lightning returns is.
They are fixing their mistakes. They are clearly telling us consumers that they messed up and they are making it up to us. How can you say this is not a good thing? They made what is probably the best MMO in the market atm and their servers werent prepared for the reception. How exactly is this bad? I dont understand the logic.
Flame them for not beeing prepared for the sucess, but dont flame them cause they made a good game.

It just shows they care about their fans a lot. I don't how it's a bad thing.
loving this game so far :) level 11 archer, questing around on the EU Shiva server atm!
Its in my opinion the best and most complete MMO out in the market. It unites GuildWars 2's events with SWTOR like story driven main quest and guild quests (though not everything is voiced) with WoW classic questing system and wildstars telegraphs before the game even comes out while giving it its own Final Fantasy spin, never having a shortage of things to do.
I am looking forward at seeing how end-game will turn out.
I can see a downside, wich is the game might feel s bit slower than other MMO's but while playing the game you see that it has more things going on than usual MMO's have in the combat. For example lancer has to strike from the side to get a short damage buff and the from behind to deal great damage while lining up their combos. Abilities are all off the global cooldown but spells and weapon skills are in a 2.5 GCD timer, wich is the only thing im not super happy about the game, but i came to get used to it. As you get more skills it seems to become less of an issue.
Good news here. It appears server capacity is going to be increased to meet the high demand of players.

"As mentioned in the previous announcement that this clarification refers to, this process is looking to be finalized come early next week and we will keep you updated once we hear more about its implementation. Thank you very much for your patience while attempting to login to the game. "
Digital sales have been temporarily stopped until the capacity increases next week:

If you want to get the game now, you need to find a retail copy.
The publisher just sent in a press release giving some numbers for us to crunch. After launch concurrent connections have reached a record number of 187,000 players connected at the same time (the previous record for a game operated by a Japanese company was 150,000 during the open beta of A Realm Reborn), and Square Enix expects that the numbers will grow further and will reach 200,000 in the near future. It’s notable that a MMORPG overtaking just after launch the numbers of its free open beta is a quite spectacular result.
I think they need to aim higher than 200k.
