they will get less and less i think. most publishers wont bother downgrading their games (visually, physics) and trying to port the game to the WiiU. the PS4/X1/PC market seems like it will be the place to go to for third parties this gen.

Yes because the PS2 was more powerful than the Xbox

they were on the same league. shall we compare specs of the WiiU and PS4? or have we done that already a billion times before?

They weren't on the same league dude. PS2 games looked flat out emberassing against GC/Xbox games

well provide some examples then.

Sonic Heroes.  The bonus levels were nearly unplayable on PS2 due to framerate issues.

it didn't have to rely on a handful of old franchises in order to sell.

Grand Theft Auto, Gran Turismo, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Tekken, Metal Gear, Tony Hawk, Medal of Honor, Crash Bandicoot, Madden, Need For Speed. Correct me if im wrong but did any of those series start 1-3 generations before PS2 was released?

A good chunk of those franchises had started just the previous gen (GTA, GT, Tekken, Tony Hawk, MoH, Crash, NFS) and were hitting their stride during the PS2's lifecycle as opposed to 15-20 years earlier like all of the franchises Nintendo routinely relies on to sell their hardware every generation with the exception of Pokemon, and even that franchise is now more than 15 years old.

Of course you left out all the PS2-era exclusive franchises like Kingdom Hearts, Jak & Daxter, Ratchet & Clank, Devil May Cry, God of War etc, that further expanded the system's library and gave gamers even more options.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Its kind of too late specs-wise for the "Next gen titles" but if Nintendo sells well enough they will get exclusive content. Too late for them ever getting next gen multiplats. People wont be holding themselves back for Nintendo unless the game is exclusive.

Isn't ubisoft developing the WiiU version of Watch Dogs alongside the PS4/XboxOne versions? We'll see how that holds up.

Watchdogs is on the PS3 and 360....its not next gen. Wait...so...do you mean to tell me you think Assassins Creed 4 is next gen since its on the PS4 and Xbox One?

So I take it that MGSV isn't next gen as well? As well as a million other cross gen games?

He prolly thinks COD: Ghosts on Wii U is next-gen too, and totally not a port of the PS360 versions.

one game... well.. just some bonus levels of a game that doesnt even stack up to the best looking games on the PS2 proves that the PS2 wasnt even on the same league as the xbox. makes perfect sense, you got me there.

Why are you so quick on judging people? Are you that dense?

The whole game suffered from frame rate issues, and the bonus levels were actually a key part to completing the game because you need chaos emeralds to beat the game.

Anyway, you asked for a title that was better on the Gamecube, I told you the one that came to my head.  Any need to be a sarcastic jackass about it?

No but its games didn't look like they were a generation behind the Xbox or GC either, and it didn't have to rely on a handful of old franchises in order to sell.

X doesn't look like a generation behind either.

X looks no better than any AAA PS360 exclusive, and those consoles are now 7 and 8 years old respectively.

By that logic the PS1 is weaker than the SNES

Yep. Its just scalable version of a next current gen game. I dont even think there will be a difference outside of graphics. Its not like BF3 where the PC version is overall superior in gameplay, playable characters, map size and more compared to the console versions. No shame in it. When cross platform third party support ends, it will sink in for Nintendo fans who want next gen multiplats. Its not smart for third party to abandon the current get platforms, which still gives Nintendo something, but after that, goodbye third party. Even now the PS3 and 360 have more multiplats than Nintendo but thats mostly because of marketshare size.
