I think the McCain/Huckabee ticket would be the best shot at the Presidency. McCain is very moderate while Huckabee can carry many conservative and the South vote for him.

The best shot, perhaps, but I'd rather not see Huckabee one spot away from top dog. Now that Romney's out, I think that McCain is the best choice, though I'm still not pleased with him.

I dont expect McCain to be a two termed President. But I think he can be a very effective one term, in which he can help this country resolve its problems. That being said, there should be no worry that Huckabee will become President.

I would have voted for McCain in 2000 but I've lost some respect for him since then and much more importantly I think even he would not be able to turn around the insanity of the present GOP. It would infect his administration. I would, however, like very much to see him with a Cabinet-level position in a Democratic administration. He would be able to do a lot of good work.

In general I agree with this sentiment.  I think McCain has a lot to offer the country, and a lot of experience and good ideas.  He certainly is not another George Bush.  I could see him working really well in a high level advisory position, but I still think we need a Democratic President to fix the mess our country is in at the moment.

I completely agree.  Though I don't agree with a bunch of his policy (ie Iraq) I do think he will have what HE feels are the country's best interests at heart.

The way you can tell he would be a more fitting candidate is the way the rest of his OWN party gangs up against him.  The reps high up want another Bush, and know they wouldn't get it out of McCain.

Though, Likewise, I appreciate his experience and dedication to the country, I feel the need for a democratic president with a democratic congress to undo damages done over the past 7 years.  All I can say is get ready to hear some whining from the right after they have done to them what was done to the dems witn an all Rep government.

Same could be said about Paul.

I had hoped for Romney to pick up some states on super tuesday, but oh well. Two points: diplomacy with some of our enemies is not gonna cut it. The troop surge actually has yielded positive results, even Democrats would have to admit it. I think it should have happened sooner though. Osama (the original one) has repeatedly said over his sadistic little tapes that the war will not end until the US of A converts to Islam. I highly doubt that will happen. And universal healthcare typically results in abuse of the system. The waiting line for organ transplants in many countries with UH is extremely long. Its a great idea, its just impractical. Lastly, I would love for a Repulican president right now with passion. Obama is fantastic at speaking and could unite the country, its just I disagree with SO MANY of his policies.

Clinton has way too much baggage. I am not worried about experience - hell, look at Bush. I know for a fact unless the GOP nominates Ann Coulter and Karl Rove as VP, there's no way it can be a more horrible duo than the Bush-Cheney drama.

LOL Karl Rove has been hired by Foxnews.

Shocker

Rove is such a dirt bag.  He was fired by Reagan and by Bush Sr. for dirty political tactics.

You know, I'd love to see McCain's Vice-President be Al Gore. Then McCain would instantly win the presidential race.

Whoever wins this election may be set up as a fall guy for the economy. Then again, blame Bush should be a much better strategy then blame Clinton.

Mccain would be the perfect president because the country runs best when the Congress and President are of different parties. They balance each other this way.

Of course you need to not have an ass as president who is over willing to veto everything he doesn't like making nothing get done. (Bush.)

Though that's why I perfer a Democratic President and a Republican Congress.

That's how you get things like a budget surplus. (See Clinton.)

Republican + Republican and Democrat + Democrat = massive deficit becuase they support their own in their deficit spending.

The days of the fiscal conservative running the republican party have sadly long passed.

That's what pisses me off. There is no party for the fiscal conservative. (Which I am. Don't spend what you don't have. I don't even understand how that's conservative instead of common sense.)

Well that's why Al Gore won't accept. Though maybe he would. From what I recall John Mccain is the one republican who see's global warming as a serious problem. Probably because he lives in Arizona.

I don't see Gore having any interest in being vice president, and i think he's made peace with getting screwed out of the election, and might even be happier this way.
