The game looks interesting and unique, it definitely deserves a meta in the 80s, few devs take risks these days and platinum should be rewarded.

I'm infinitely glad that's not how review scores work.

But not solely on the basis that they took a risk or that the developer 'deserves' a high or low score.

Didn't know this was out already

Prediction: Switch will sell better than Wii U Lifetime Sales by Jan 1st 2018

Scores are unimportant to me and from what I've read about, and seen of, Wonderful 101, it's a definite buy for me when I have a Wii U. Reminds me of Kid Icarus: Uprising, awkward controls leading to a mileage-may-vary reaction among critics. If the reward for mastering or even simply putting up with awkward controls is an inventive, vibrant action game I am sold.

They've only counted 11 critics yet.

And I don't think you should let a 5-point difference in Metascore get you down, anyway.

In most people's mind video game scores go like this:

9 and up:

quoted for good reason i assure you...

OT - a bit worse than i would have expected (average) but not too far off.  i always kind of felt that much of this games hype came from a lack of anything else to get excited about.

Mostly reviews are just superficial and full of bias more or less like forum posts. If you really want to know if a game is good or bad you have to try it.
The issues whith this game sound a lot like the issues whith DKC: "the control response is not immediate you have to get used to it and I'm lazy", or like the issues whith Dark Souls: "this game is difficult and it doesn't tell me where to go in any moment and I'm lazy."
In the end, you'll get the best score on metacritic by making a good looking presentation and rendering the game as conforming as possible.

This game could be a GOTY for a lot of reasons. And the rating is 79... let's play the same games forever.

Except Dark Souls reviewed much better and the Wonderful 101 score will only go down as more  sites review it.

I've never expected W101 to score better than my fav game of the last 5 years, still Dark Souls was cirtized by many rewievers the way I mantioned. I could make some more examples if you want, but the underlined fact doesn't change: many reviews are unreliable and the "metacritic system" rewards only conforming games.
