Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Will Zelda Wind Waker Wii U finally get people to give this game the attention and sales it deserves?

Only way I see a Wind Waker port/remake selling more then the original this year would be if it was on the 3DS or came bundled with a HD remake of Majora's Mask or Twilight Princess. Wind Waker is my favorite Zelda game but the fact is on the Wii U, it isn't a system seller on its own and right now the system needs something to grab people to buy it.

4.6m is very good. Not to dismiss the game, but knowing it was rushed and the difficulty was setting down after OoT/MM, those are more than deserved sales. SS on the other hand, deserves at least to reach this milestone.

As a side-note, I personally remain convinced that VGC has this game heavily undertracked. It's over 4m for sure. Nintendo revealed sales (okay, shipments) of 3.42m as of December 2011, a mere month after release. VGC already had it almost a million under that number at that time, there's just no way it only sold 3.68m now after all this time, nearly two years later. If only Nintendo had revealed new numbers in their latest reports...

And I agree, Skyward Sword was more than deserving of reaching Wind Waker area sales, more-so than Wind Waker itself actually if I had to choose... Well... actually, if I could choose, all of them would have sold over 10m .

not too hard to believe at all or several reasons.  1 the game is Motion plus ONLY, that right there is gonna limit the numbers of people who can actually play the thing, unless they were willing to buy the more expensive bundle, which i may add was only a limited run. 2 the series has always been frontloaded as hell, so nothing new here. 3 its STILL full price almost 2 years later, the way Ninty games always are so IMHO if someone wanted the game by now they would have bought it a while ago as their would be not point in waiting. 4 the fact that Ninty is mum about it tells me not much has changed at least not postitively

no. i hated this zelda game. if anything it needs a price cut.

Nah I don't believe it. No way there were a million less sold than shipped. We know there were more shipments of the game anyway after that first month, at least two, one with just the game in golden release box-art without the symphony CD included and later another with the new colorful box-art. Moreso I don't think Nintendo mentions any game in their reports not from a given fiscal year after the one it was released in, whether it sold good or not. Could be wrong about that though. Nah I don't believe it .
