are those SNES and N64 numbers real? those seem awfully low

All the Nintendo numbers appear to be real.
I've been checking and the SEGA numbers apparently make no sense, I'd love to see what the sources for these are. For now I actually find Wikipedia to be more believable when it comes to retro consoles considering they actually have sources. I already knew the PS1 number is also incorrect.

damn, i thought n64 at least had done better than that. And sega seems low too at least genesis/megadrive

atleast the DS still has a shot at doing that, although i heard it's gonna get discontinued next year which is really sad. you had a fantastic 10 years DS!
Well deserved too. I loved the Wii, it had tons of great first party games and despite what people may say, it had lots of great third party games as well. No regrets here.

It deserved it that's for sure.
Wikipedia has the same numbers for all the Nintendo consoles as VGC does (except those still in production), and they all link to a hardware page from Nintendo themselves, so I gues they're all correct.
SEGA's numbers however are different and indeed I personally already thought Genesis was a lot closer to SNES than the numbers here make it seem. Wikipedia says 37.4-41.9m depending on what is counted for the Genesis, 9.4m for the Saturn and 10.6m for the Dreamcast. All significantly higher than what VGC says. GameGear is about the same with 11.0m. Wikipedia's sources are just articles however, so I don't know if they're true even I also find a 40-ish number more believable for the Genesis.

Er DS was already discontinued?
Now we have 5 systems in the elusive 100 million club. Each of which are amazing in their own right.
Congrats to the Wii on this milestone.
