No, I don't think PC gaming is a part of Microsoft's ecosystem.
If PC gaming disappeared overnight, Microsoft would suffer very little. They get little to no revenue from games and people who wouldn't have a gaming PC would just have a normal PC instead, still running on Windows.
If it was part of their ecosystem, then they would be pushing games for it right now.
Its a crazy analogy, So Skype is part of the Sony Ecosystem, cos there is an App on Vita!
