No BC console, a MASSIVE premium over American prices that defies scale and tax logic, and now they raise the price on their games because their console isn't selling elsewhere in the world.

All console companies screw Australia, but Sony this generation have just been ridiculous.

Who cares if you have a PS3 or not? if anyone does they need to get a life.

Don't buy one dude. The ps3 is too overrated for you. Surely all you need is a ps2 to play ps2 games. So I recommend you don't get one... for your sanity :D

Anyways ps3 games are $120au, but Like I said in another thread... if you look around ... look for specials you can get it cheaper.  Seriously COD4 $74au first week.  Come on that is a bargin.  

You either want a ps3 or not.  Until you get one you don;t know what your missing.  Als I have the 60gig and you know what I don;t play my ps2 games much on it.  I'm over ps2 games.  I enjoy the experince of ps3 games. anyways I got my ps2 if I really want to play it.  Don;t let price and BC rob you of getting a ps3.  Seriously, you won't be playing too many ps2 games for long.

Thanks X-man. The issue is i play a lot of xbox games on my 360 like fable/halo etc. I have both KH's and I haven't played FF 10 or 12 and the only PS2 ive ever had is gone. So i know i'll want a PS3 eventually, but there are no exclusives worth spending $700AU on (plus second controller, HDMI cable and game) and may not be until versus (maybe god of war, still thinking). On the other hand, with BC and a half reasonable price, it would be worth it for the moderate exclusives (R&C, Uncharted).

I do think BC is important though. I don't own a PS2 anymore but have at least 5 games I still need to play. No way I'll be buying a PS2.

So unless they add BC, I won't be buying a PS3 because I'll feel ripped.

Thats pretty much my feeling. Eventually I'll get a PS3, its just that ill delay for yrs rather than months if they dont put in BC.

Its a good thing they dropped the PS2 BC, it really, really sucks. Worst BC I've ever seen. Really, if you want to play PS2 games, take my advice, buy a PS2 in your own country and a component cable and you'll get better images than on a PS3.
