Forums - Politics Discussion - U.S. Spying On Europe: EU Confronts Washington Reports Of Spying On Allies

This can only end bad. Like Watergate bad, or some kind of skirmish between US and Europe.

Ohh man thats like Civilization V. But come who doubted that Americans would do something like that?

Considering the UK was bugging everyone it'd be shocking if the US wasn't. (Which makes the whole partners don't spy on each other line silly.)

Eh.  If Bush was still in office.

As it is, most Democrats are more then willing to abandon prinicpal to defend a democratic president and most republicans are in favor of all this bullshit.

I don't think a Far left Liberal + Libretarian alliance is really strong enough to bring anything to bare.

Though this does illustrate pretty nicely why Ralph Nader was so heavily backing Ron Paul over Obama.

That's an interesting point you've made there.

no one, but that already tells something about their reputation on this planet.

Isn't it very possible that EU countries are doing the same thing, but haven't been outed by one of their higher ups? Come on people...

German reality TV poses a threat to all intelligent life on this planet, so the USA's stance is understandable.

Is it worse than USA's?

i believe there is no better or worse if it comes to reality tv^^

It's laughable that people would think the U.S. is the only one doing this. Of course, this is just bad PR for the U.S. In the end tho, U.S. is still ruling the world so not much will change.

Innocent until proven guilty. Unfortunately for USA, only they have been proven guilty so far.

You're correct, I'm just not ready to believe that one country of all the major players in the world are the only ones engaging in basic information gathering.  It may be wrong, but I'm sure things like this go on far more than we know.
