And my 1080 has arrived thus making my new PC build complete!

Now the reason why it is not the MSI 1080 is cause 1080s just got a new promo which is free Destiny 2 but I bought it couple of days before and newegg was being like "nooo, you bought it slighty before the promo" so I am refunding that and ordered the Evga 1080 FTW from amazon instead which costs about $30 more but the good news is, it is also clocked a lot higher so... Not the worst thing in the world and of course, free Destiny 2.

I guess I should post some nudes

Okay, so I forgot about OverclockersUK having their list of G-sync monitors

Out of this lost, which one would you guys go for and why?

I wouldn't go for anything of them. Only 1080P. 27" only and under. :P
Plus I don't think you would be happy with TN. So that shrinks everything back to:

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/acer-predator-z271bmiphzx-27-1920x1080-va-g-sync-144hz-curved-gaming-widescreen-led-zeroframe-monit-mo-119-ac.html

But then it's VA and you might not like the ghosting. (I wasn't able to find any good reviews on that monitor sadly.)
Plus not ULMB either which might be a deal breaker. (Ultra Low Motion Blur)

Earlier in the thread I posted a link to a TFT Central review of that monitor. If that doesn't count as a good review, I don't know what you're looking for. Maybe Prad.de's review of it, in german?

http://www.prad.de/new/monitore/test/2016/test-acer-predator-z271.html

Google translator says:

"Away from all this, however, the Z271 was developed for the gaming, which he also done with bravura. Sure, the HD resolution is not the optimum for a 27-inch monitor. However, it is also still possible to reach the targeted update rate of 144 Hz with proper graphics settings if you do not spend a small amount on a graphics card want. G-Sync does its work reliably, and switching and latencies are also very good, so both casual and hardcore gamers will enjoy the device.

In view of the performance and the above-average equipment of the Acer Predator Z271, the current road price of 599 € is in a healthy relationship and receives a purchase recommendation from us.

Overall Judgment: GOOD"

Apologies if I missed it. I am participating in so many tech threads at the moment across multiple forums... My memory has turned into a forgettery.

It does resonate with my own views though. Anything larger than 24" really does need to be 1440P or better.

Nah! It's ok. And maybe I overreacted a little bit.

Personally, since I can't stand big monitors (and that includes 27" ones... I don't really know how some people can use 32 or even 40" monitors) I'd go for an in between monitor, like Dell's U2515, 25" 1440p monitor.

Of course, that's not a gaming monitor and is "only" 60Hz, but I don't need the high refresh rates.

I used to run triple 24" screens (5760x1080) and then triple 27" screens (7680x1440).

You do get used to having large screen spaces... When I downgraded to a single 27" screen it felt extremely limiting.

What's truly terrible with larger displays though is lower resolutions. 1440P is a must for 27" and larger IMHO. 32" and larger you need to start thinking about 4k. It's all about the Perceived Pixels Per Inch.

No worries, I said before that I'd go for it in the end

I might end up using this current monitor as another screen for websites while keeping the other for gaming (might wall bracket the current monitor).

Talking about monitors, Ars Technica tried to game on Dell's 8K monitor a few days ago

Suffice to say, not even a couple of GTX 1080Ti cards are able to manage it.

Btw, if you're curious about what an 8K image looks like, there are images of Rise of the Tomb Raider and Metro: Last Light for you to see how they look like.

A Plague Tale: Innocence may give you rat-filled nightmares
http://www.pcgamer.com/a-plague-tale-innocence-may-give-you-rat-filled-nightmares/
Rats are pretty annoying, chewing and scurrying and generally looking suspicious, but it could be worse. They could be killing everyone off again, like they are in A Plague Tale: Innocence, a game that sounds interesting, but mostly harrowing.

Insurgency: Sandstorm announced, trailer teases 'Story Mode' for solo or co-op play
http://www.pcgamer.com/insurgency-sandstorm-announced-trailer-teases-story-mode-for-solo-or-co-op-play/
The multiplayer tactical FPS Insurgency was released by New World Interactive in 2014, and it was quite good. The studio followed that up with Day of Infamy, a standalone expansion released earlier this year that converts the game from the modern era to the Second World War. Now a third game is on the way, Insurgency: Sandstorm, a proper sequel to the original that will feature a new Story Mode, playable either solo or cooperatively in groups of up to four.

Assassin's Creed: Origins is single-player only
http://www.pcgamer.com/assassins-creed-origins-is-single-player-only/
If you were expecting Assassin's Creed: Origins to boast cooperative play or any other kind of online multiplayer, then it's time to drop that hope. Assassin's Creed: Origins will be a single-player experience, the game's director Ashraf Ismail confirmed during an E3 panel (via https://www.vg247.com/2017/06/14/assassins-creed-origins-no-multiplayer-but-online-features-make-an-unwelcome-return/VG 24/7).

Far Cry 5 and Assassin’s Creed: Origins are both dumping the mini-map
http://www.pcgamer.com/far-cry-5-and-assassins-creed-origins-are-both-dumping-the-mini-map/
Far Cry 5 and Assassin’s Creed: Origins have plenty in common, but one of their more understated similarities is that both Ubisoft teams decided to drop the mini-map. When you’re running around the world in Assassin’s Creed your cool eagle friend is your only immediate form of navigation, and in Far Cry 5, it’s your trusty binoculars. In Origins and Far Cry 5, you’ll still see icons representing points of interest while looking through both bird and binoculars, but the move reinforces a trend in open world games that relies more on notable geography and player curiosity for getting around in the world. Let’s hope you can turn off icons entirely across the board.

Dauntless 'Founder's Alpha' will begin in August
http://www.pcgamer.com/dauntless-founders-alpha-will-begin-in-august/
Dauntless is a free-to-play online co-op game about hunting huge monsters called Behemoths, inspired by games like "Dark Souls, Monster Hunter, and World of Warcraft," that was revealed late last year. In March, developer Phoenix Labs began taking signups for a closed alpha test, and the next month began offering https://playdauntless.com/founders-packsFounder's Packs, one of which includes access to an "exclusive pre-beta event" called the Founder's Alpha. All of which leads us to today's news: The https://playdauntless.com/news/founders-alpha-launch-datelaunch of the Founder's Alpha, and the lifting of the NDA "for new content," will take place on August 18.

Ni No Kuni 2 will adopt 'more adult perspective' but won't scrimp on humour
http://www.pcgamer.com/ni-no-kuni-2-will-adopt-more-adult-perspective-but-wont-scrimp-on-humour/
Level 5 and Bandai Namco's first Ni No Kuni game was exclusive to PlayStation 3, however we learned this year that, rather surprisingly, its follow-up—Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom—is heading to PC. A November 10 launch date was revealed at E3 this week, which was supervened by a more indepth look at its gorgeous and completely overhauled battle system.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 is at 'day zero of development', says Michel Ancel
http://www.pcgamer.com/beyond-good-and-evil-2-is-at-day-zero-of-development-says-michel-ancel/
The game's blatant shift in tone divided fans of the original on social media, despite only showing off some well engineered CGI footage in lieu of actual gameplay. In an interview with https://www.theverge.com/2017/6/14/15801280/beyond-good-evil-2-preview-michel-ancel-interview-e3-2017The Verge (via https://www.videogamer.com/news/beyond-good-evil-2s-creative-director-says-the-game-is-at-day-zero-of-developmentVideogamer), despite the hype, Ancel has now described the status of Beyond Good and Evil 2 as at "day zero of development"—which speaks directly to this omission.

Sundered teases gigantic Souls-like boss ahead of July release
http://www.pcgamer.com/sundered-teases-gigantic-souls-like-boss-ahead-of-july-release/
Sundered is a game which has steadily impressed me since Andy first reported on it last year. In case this is the first you're hearing of it, it's a two-dimensional eldritch horror-style Metroidvania from Jotun devs Thunder Lotus Games. According to creative director William Dubé, it requires players survive its "horrifying fight for survival and sanity"—something which often sees plays going toe-to-toe with some pretty formidable looking bosses, the majority of which tower high above the player.
