Hmmn, this is the only one out of the 6 that comes close to something I'd want, though it's 24' like my current BenQ, which isn't exactly bad, but a 27' would be nice.

Chazore, you do know that there are back Noctua fans, right?

or https://www.scan.co.uk/products/120mm-noctua-nf-f12-industrialppc-2000rpm-high-performance-fan

though this one won't be quiet at all

As for the monitor, given that you want a 27", 1080p, 144Hz and G-Sync, I'd go with the Acer Predator Z271

https://www.scan.co.uk/products/27-acer-predator-z271-1920x1080-144hz-curved-169-va-display-nvidia-g-sync-4ms-dp-hdmi-usb-hub-black

It's a bit pricey and curved, but it has an VA panel with a 3000:1 contrast ratio, 4ms response time, Flicker Free and the TFTCentral review of it is very positive

http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/acer_predator_z271.htm

I could make use of the grey ones for the clear side of my C70 case, though the black coloured one would be ideal to match the black fans already inside my current rig, though the noise would become an issue. I have no pads inside or out of the case to dampen the noise.

The curved one isn't that bad in price, it's actually cheaper than the others which range upwards to 600/700+. Not sure on the VA type though, what are the downsides of VA compared to TN and IPS?.

I'll also be going for a gaming chair since the current office wheelie one is doing my back in. A new KB+M is also in the works , I'm basically going all out on a new rig/setup, minus the PSU/Case.

Completely sold out in Australia. Bitcoin mining just had a price boom. Which meant the value of AMD GPU's have skyrocketed.
Good news for AMD though, especially in combination with Ryzens success.

Bad news for us gamers.

I have the army-green C70 case. The classic brownish Noctua fans actually suit it colour-wise.

Ghosting.

It does have advantages over TN and IPS, but that's it's biggest weakness.

Same. Staggering my upgrade though so the bank account doesn't look depressing.

Damn, I do dislike ghosting to a degree, though I dislike crushed blacks and colour banding all the more. There doesn't seem to be that great a deal of options for the 1080p line of G-sync monitors that aren't sold out. That and some of them end up having tradeoffs, as if there isn't one out there that doesn't have one big weakness.

I can take the hit on my account for now, though I'll be spending the rest of the year and next to make up for the slight hole.

I guess I could go for those grey fans, they are cheaper than say the BQ ones which go for £20 a pop for the 120mm version, so with them i'd end up spending £60 with P&P on top as well. The Grey ones are like £11 a pop, which is much cheaper. I've not got any RGB inside the case and it's all black inside and out as well as it not being in a position to really show anything off. I wouldn't mind going with the grey ones tbh.

Edit: I did just notice that they do a bundle of 3 120mm BQ fans for £49.86 rather than paying £60, so there is some money to be saved there and I do need 3 of them.

When is Volta Titan coming again? I want to play ACO at 30fps at least.

The way things are going AMD could release the Vegas as a Founder's Edition for $999 and cash in the money.

They are likely going to be supply constrained anyway.

I doubt it is coming before mid 2018. I think GV100 has to release first, according to what Nvidia usually does, and it will use the new 12 nm TSMC node (which actually is a fancy name for their improved 16 nm node, really).

Source: AMD to launch Threadripper in August
https://www.kitguru.net/components/cpu/matthew-wilson/source-amd-to-launch-threadripper-in-august/
At Computex this year, both AMD and Intel laid all of their cards out on the table with the announcements of Threadripper and Skylake-X. Last night, Intel announced that its 4 to 10 core CPUs would begin shipping from June 19th onwards, with 12 to 18 core SKUs expected to start shipping in August. So when is AMD’s Threadripper stepping into the HEDT arena to compete? Well, we hear that the launch will take place in August.

From what we have heard from sources close to KitGuru, AMD should launch Threadripper around the 10th of August, after moving the date from a late July launch. This is what we have heard through industry contacts and if true, would mean we will be seeing AMD and Intel square up once again, this time in the HEDT market.
