That can work for console based threads, where news about an upcoming console reveal or things like that can be put in the first post, but what kind of news could be put on a PC based thread?

Upcoming games? The tastes in gaming are so different and there are so many indie games launching every week that it would be impossible to keep up to date.

Upcoming hardware? That would take more than one post as we're tlaking about not only GPUs, but also CPUs, and that's without mentioning all the other bits that are needed for a PC like new RAM modules, CPU coolers, Power Supplies, cases, etc. Plus, there are new threads made for new CPUs and GPUs, so there's not really a need to keep it in this thread.

Game Sales? There's always a new thread when it's time for the Summer/Winter/whatever Steam Sale, and the rest of the sales last for so little that it's not worth it to post them in the OP. Besides, I always list the weekend running sales when I make the news in Friday, so if you read those posts usually, you'll find about them easier than having to go back to the fist page to read the OP.

I repeat, I don't see how having news in the OP would be useful.

Yeah, I was thinking of new major PC releases, or announcements. But I guess you're right. Carry on.

Well, carry on then.

Off you go.

In civilised countries everybody is innocent until proven guilty, so using an emulator is allowed to everybody. Everybody in its turn should use it just to emulate games they're allowed to use in some way (either owning a legal copy or because IP owners conceded the use), but the fact that many people run pirated copies doesn't affect the many others that behave legally, guilt cannot be transmitted to innocent people. Law that presume guilt exist in many countries alas, but they are relics of a barbaric past, and often pushed by individuals or entities that don't hesitate to trample on people's rights and freedom for their purposes and interests.

That's completely true, and I agree with you. But Nintendo, just like Sony, MSoft and any other company that faces the menace of piracy, usually acts assuming that people will use emulators or thinks like those r4 cartridges for the DS, to pirate their games.

Which is the reason I'm surprised they haven't done anything to shoot down those emulators, specially if they are on competing consoles.

Yeah, maybe they have some undisclosed deal with Sony.

http://www.pcgamer.com/gog-is-offering-refunds-on-the-drm-free-edition-of-armello/
League of Geeks released the first major DLC package for the animalistic strategy-RPG game Armello last week, but only on Steam. The DRM-free edition on GOG, for reasons that weren't made entirely clear, didn't get it, and more importantly isn't going to get it. The reaction among owners was about what you'd expect, and in response to that GOG has decided to offer refunds to anybody who wants one, no questions asked.

AROUND 100 PEOPLE ARE NOW WORKING ON OVERWATCH
http://www.pcgamer.com/around-100-people-are-now-working-on-overwatch/
Have you ever wondered how many people are actually working on Overwatch right now? Battle.net user Lackofname did, and so they asked—and game director Jeff Kaplan answered. Boy, did he answer.

>>The interesting part of the article is the comparison of team sizes, because if the part where it says that the whole Valve is about the same size as the Overwatch team, that could explain why they aren't making more games.

TROPICO 4 IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR FREE ON THE HUMBLE STORE
http://www.dsogaming.com/news/tropico-4-is-now-available-for-free-on-the-humble-store/
Good news for all simulation/strategy fans as Tropico 4 is currently available for free on the Humble Store. This offer is for a limited time as it ends in one day and three hours from this post, so make sure to download it while you still can.

>>I didn't fall in love with Tropico 3 (which funnily enough, algo got for free from the Humble Bundle), but I'll give the fourth part a go. You must have a Humble Bundle and a Steam account, and you can get it from here.

BLIZZARD'S SOLUTION TO ARENA BALANCE IN HEARTHSTONE: REMOVE THE CARDS THAT SUCK
http://www.pcgamer.com/blizzards-solution-to-arena-balance-in-hearthstone-remove-the-cards-that-suck/
Hearthstone’s Arena mode can often feel like the unloved sibling to Ranked play, getting all the hand-me-down design decisions made for Standard and never getting to ride in the front seat of the car on the way to school. But today, Blizzard announced plans to address growing complaints over the state of Arena balance by removing certain cards from showing up in the draft altogether.

NEW PREY TRAILER EXPLAINS THE RETRO-FUTURE STYLE OF THE TALOS 1 STATION
http://www.pcgamer.com/new-prey-trailer-explains-the-retro-future-style-of-the-talos-1-station/
One of the more interesting things about Prey is that it's set in a world in which US President John Kennedy was not assassinated. He lived, he served out his presidency, and the world evolved in a very different direction because of it. We got our first taste of that alt-history setting at QuakeCon, and now Bethesda has revealed a little bit more about how Talos 1, the orbital station on which Prey takes place, ultimately came to be.

It’s lived in Early Access since April but now has a concrete release date: September 20.

HOMEFRONT: THE REVOLUTION IS FREE TO TRY ON STEAM THIS WEEKEND
http://www.pcgamer.com/homefront-the-revolution-is-free-to-try-on-steam-this-weekend/
Four years in the making, Dambuster Studios’ Homefront: The Revolution endured a long and troubled development. Several reboots and its first publisher going into liquidation prompted studio head Hasit Zala to include a heartfelt message to players upon the game’s completion—a situation made worse by middling reviews upon release.

Talking about weekend deals, here's what else is available on Steam and GOG:

+Steam

+GOG

And that's it for this week. As always, I hope you have a happy and gaming weekend.

Hmm, well it is something. Arena is such an ignored portion of the game.

Yes. And updating the OP should always be done with care. I value when I can see when something has been posted. I appreciate when I can immedialtely see "posted 6 days ago".

Anyway, how would you even update the OP of this thread, when it was created by a user who has passed away?

That's why he said in his first post that a new PC thread should be made.

Truth be told, I didn't say no.

If DanneSandin or others want to make a new PC thread I'm not going to oppose to that. But of course, their thread, their responsibility.
