Tuesday news, part two:

Amazon's Fallout 76 preorder page originally indicated a July release date
https://www.pcgamer.com/amazons-fallout-76-preorder-age-originally-indicated-a-july-release-date/
Fallout 76 doesn't have a release date yet—that will presumably be revealed at E3—but it could arrive sooner than anyone expects. The Amazon preorder page currently lists the launch date as December 31, 2019, but as Massively Overpowered observed, when it first went up it carried a "get it by" date of July 31 2018.

Jurassic World Jeeps are coming to Rocket League
https://www.pcgamer.com/jurassic-world-jeeps-are-coming-to-rocket-league/
A pair of iconic Jeeps are coming to Rocket League later this month in the Jurassic World Car Pack, featuring liveries for both Jurassic Park and Jurassic World (Park for Orange team, World for Blue team—don't want things to get too confusing when dino-philes go head-to-head), unique wheels and engine audio, and some goodies for the game's other cars too.

Rocket League players say the new Salty Shores map is too damn bright
https://www.pcgamer.com/rocket-league-players-say-the-new-salty-shores-map-is-too-damn-bright/
Rocket League's latest content update, Salty Shores, introduced a smattering of '80s-themed content styled after sun-bleached beaches and the retina-searing citrus tones that come with them, including a sandy new map. The update has gone down pretty well overall, there's just one little problem: people can't see the freaking ball.

Destiny 2's September expansion is called Forsaken, full reveal coming tomorrow (Updated)
https://www.pcgamer.com/destiny-2s-big-september-expansion-will-be-revealed-next-week/
Update: A fresh tease on Twitter has revealed that the next Destiny 2 expansion will be called Forsaken.
The clip shows Cayde-6 and another Hunter, presumably the player but possibly not, landing on the Reef, which we previously speculated will be the main setting for the expansion. It's also the location of the Prison of Elders, a sort of maximum security joint for aliens that served as an arena for a wave-based mode (that apparently wasn't great) in the House of Wolves DLC for the original Destiny. There's also a reference to Cayde-6 "filling the Prison of Elders" in this Warmind "narrative preview," and that's probably not a coincidence. Our money would be on the prison being the destination for the next raid.

Temtem looks to be as close to a Pokémon MMO as legally possible
https://www.pcgamer.com/temtem-is-as-close-to-a-pokemon-mmo-as-legally-possible/
Temtem, an upcoming MMO about collecting and battling monsters also called Temtem, was inspired by Pokémon in the same sense that Starbound was inspired by Terraria: It's a spin on it, but nowhere near a full rotation. Temtem is less 'spiritual successor' and more 'well if you're not going to make a Pokémon MMO, we will.'

WoW's infamous Alterac Valley battleground is coming to Heroes of the Storm
https://www.pcgamer.com/wows-infamous-alterac-valley-battleground-is-coming-to-heroes-of-the-storm/
The next Heroes of the Storm in-game event will pit the forces of the Horde and the Alliance against one another in a battle for heroes, portraits, banners, and mounts called Echoes of Alterac. The event will unfold on a new battleground, Alterac Pass, a three-lane map in the mountains inspired by World of Warcraft's Alterac Valley, and will see the Draenei finally join the action in the Nexus with the addition of a new hero, Yrel.

Warframe's June expansion trailer has players scrambling to decrypt its hidden messages
https://www.pcgamer.com/warframes-june-expansion-trailer-has-players-scrambling-to-decrypt-its-hidden-messages/
After first being teased a year ago, the next chapter in Warframe's evolving story, The Sacrifice, is finally coming later this month. But like most things in Warframe, what will actually happen in The Sacrifice is still a mystery. The trailer above, which shows off a few of Warframe's hardcore veteran players, only teases a few things. Keen Warframe players are sure to pick up on those very subtle threads but for a casual or non-player it can be hard to see what all the buzz is about.

Surviving Mars dev 'made a straight honest to god mistake' by overlooking tutorials
https://www.pcgamer.com/surviving-mars-dev-made-a-straight-honest-to-god-mistake-by-overlooking-tutorials/
"On the tutorial question: we made a mistake. A straight, honest to god mistake. To us, the game did not seem that complex because we know it. We decided that, okay, we will do this elaborate system and people will gradually learn it as they go. In the end, it wasn't exactly like that.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider teases pretty fire and water effects
https://www.pcgamer.com/shadow-of-the-tomb-raider-teases-pretty-fire-and-water-effects/
Shadow of the Tomb Raider looks to be Lara's darkest, deadliest and stealthiest outing yet. Tom was disappointed with an early build back in April, but I'm impressed with how its fire, water and smoke effects are shaping up today. These are all outlined in the game's latest dev-led short.

Some of them are, of course: At the pay-what-you-want level, you get Memoria, an outstanding fantasy adventure set in the Dark Eye world, the less-consistent Deponia: The Complete Journey (first episode is good, but the second and third, not so much), the strategy-RPG Caravan, and the strange, hand-drawn Anna's Quest.

Heu guys, with GOG celebrating its Summer Sale, I wondered about Steam. You know, to see if the date for its Summer Sale has been leaked too as usual, because I couldn't remember about it. Well, I don't know if some of you have posted it because yes, it has been leaked as usual, but I'm sure I didn't post it because neither DSOGaming nor PCGamer had an article about it.

Whatever the case, I'll post it (maybe again):

The Steam Summer Sale will begin on June 21th, and end on July 5th.

2 weeks and a day seems pretty short for a sales period for summer if you ask me.

makes me wonder when Ubisoft, EA and Blizzard will hold their sales, if they'll hold any at all this summer.

Do you think so? Well, looking a bit through the net I've found that:

  • In 2017 they ran between June 22th and July 5th.
  • In 2016 it was between June 23th and July 4th.
  • In 2015, between June 11th and June 21th

So it's actually the opposite, this year the Summer sale will be longer than usual.

I've found myself going for GMG sales these days, mostly due to the fact that they give you coupon codes to shave more off of the price. Steam just has a set bunch of prices and they never change during the sale.

On the other hand you get sometimes Steam gift cards heavily reduced. I had to pay around €36 a few months ago for €50 Steam credit.
