The FIFA World Cup 2018 kicks off next week, which GTA Online is celebrating with a GTA$250,000 giveaway. Sign in between now and June 11 to register, and return after June 14 to net the complimentary windfall. "All GTA$ will arrive in your Maze Bank account no later than June 18th," says Rockstar.

Bungie revealed during today's livestream that Destiny 2 Year 2 will bring major changes, including a new raid called Dreaming City, a new Gambit mode that will combine PvE with PvP in a potentially very interesting way, new super abilities, randomized weapon rolls and mods in the style of Destiny 1, and a brand-new weapon class: bows.

Bungie revealed Destiny 2's Forsaken expansion, which will kick off the Year 2 content on September 4, in a livestream earlier today. Alongside other plans for the year ahead, including three upcoming expansions which are part of an "annual pass," Bungie also outlined the new stuff still to come in Year 1. The big finale is the Solstice of Heroes update, which is scheduled to drop on July 17 and comes bearing several highly requested PvP and PvE changes.

Publisher 2K Games recently announced that the free-to-play version of Evolve, as well as the dedicated servers supporting its ranked modes and leaderboards, will shut down this September, just under two years after developer Turtle Rock Studios stopped working on the game. On the heels of the announcement, Evolve writer and designer Matt Colville took to Reddit to explain why he believes Evolve struggled to get off the ground, and why it declined so rapidly after release.

Electronic Arts laid out its long-term plans for Battlefield 5 in a new blog post on the Tides of War, the name it's using to describe the "evolving journey" that players will take through the course of the Second World War. Players will create Companies of soldiers, weapons, and vehicles, all of them customizable and available in all multiplayer modes and Combined Arms. Players can have one Company per faction, beginning with the British and Germans, the two multiplayer factions that will be available at launch.

In a new developer update, game director Jeff Kaplan outlined a huge patch coming to Overawtch soon. In addition to the extensive Symmetra rework, a number of social features are coming to the game.
The most exciting is a 'looking for group' feature that will allow players to create parties, restrict roles they're looking for, and seek out players with specific parameters such as using voice chat or those interested in climbing the ladder.

Ubisoft confirmed today that Rainbow Six Siege's next expansion, Operation Para Bellum, will launch this Thursday, June 7 (or June 8 if you're in Australia). In addition to the two new operators and map, there will be a lot of quality-of-life tweaks to the game itself. One of these will see the controversial Tower map removed from Ranked play.

Far Cry 5's Hours of Darkness DLC focuses on stealthy survival in the Vietnam War, said Chris earlier this week. Some of that's teased at the start of the South East Asian expansion's launch trailer, before the player is seen blowing things up, dropping choppers from the sky, and rolling around in the dirt with an angry panther.

 

Total War: Three Kingdoms first in-engine cinematic reveals Cao Cao and a delayed release

Sega and Creative Assembly have released the first-ever in-game cinematic for Total War: Three Kingdoms, the historical(ish) RTS inspired by the 14th-century epic Romance of the Three Kingdoms. The story follows the adventures of the warlords and generals who struggled to unite China in the 2nd and 3rd centuries; the trailer focuses on one of them, Cao Cao, a "cunning strategic mastermind" and central figure of the Three Kingdoms period.

 

Telltale's The Walking Dead final season release date set
