Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Activision talks Xbox One price: Microsoft will have to “convince people that the higher price point is worth it”

Both from a consumer coice point of view and from a gamers pint of view MS are definatly winning. More exclusives at launch, christmas and next year. I still wonder WTF apart from Multiplatform games people will buy for PS4.

After KZ3 was terrible KZ4 and it being a shooter isnt helping Sony at all.

Ya, definately keeping an eye on this. Looks like a "grown ups" Little Big Planet

I haven't been so hyped about a console since Snes.

MS is never bland with their consoles. That's what I like about them.

Gonna be an interesting one. They're coming off nowhere near the kind of domination that Sony were having with the PS2; and they couldn't really justify the higher price.

But MS have certainly got a better line-up of first year games coming.

Like Sales says, I think it'll come down to marketing. If they get it right, they've got a shot.

They're going to have to pull the wool over people's eyes with their advertising, because right now Sony is delivering absolutely more value at a cheaper price.

As of right now even though I want to keep my Live account and all that I have to side with the PS4 here in Sweden the difference is still 100$ and being a student and all that I will have to pick the cheaper system which in this case is PS4.

Had they removed Kinect and 100$ I would have had completely different thoughts but that isn't happening.

You can't say that the Xbox One controller is the best, seeing as how it's your opinion and more than likely havent used it as well as the DS4 (which has been getting rave reviews since E3).

OT: It's gonna be a tough battle but it'll work in the US. We have a "you get what you pay for" mentality and those that don't know much about games would think that the Xbox one is more powerful because of the extra $100 dollars. Also, coming from last gen where Xbox had such a huuuge mind share and word of mouth, this holiday alot of people will get it because they think all of their friends that own 360 will move to the One as well.

The term value is very relative to gamers. For example, some players prefer action adventure games better so they choose Xbox. Others prefer JRPG they go with Play Station. Others, platformers and eastern gems so they go with Nintendo.

Xbox 360 controller is considered the best in the gaming industry!

Xbox Juan controller improves all the flaws of its predecessor and adds more to greatness. Hmm, I can't deduce how's that gonna be, with people raving about it at E3. I guess you skipped all the articles talking about it.

In that case we'd have to look at the objective side of things. PS4 has a lot more value for a cheaper price in terms of stronger hardware, removable HDD, headset, smaller paywall to get multiplayer, touchpad input with controller, more compact design (no powerbrick). Since game preference is highly subjective, I'll just say that Sony has a proven track record of supporting their consoles with high quality games throughout their lifecyle (ie. not just the first couple of years).
