Wii U has more memory and a better GPU than PS3/ 360, but it's CPU is tricky, and in some ways, it's rather slow.  These games would require some re-engineering in order to run something else.   By Nintendo's own admission, Wii U is comparable to other HD consoles currently on the market, so yes, these games could be made to run on 360/PS3.

Just to be clear, though, it's never, EVER, going to happen.   Not ever.  These games, including Bayo 2, are funded by Nintendo, and under Nintendo's copyright. Platinum could make a separate Bayonetta game, but it wouldn't be able to be called Bayo 2, and it wouldn't be allowed to be the same Bayonetta that they're making right now for Wii U.   As for X and MK8, those are developed internally by first-party studios, so I don't even understand why this is a topic lol.

Should someone also make a thread for Halo 5 being able to run on Wii U, or Last of Us being able to run on 360? lol

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

MK 8 - Yes
Bayo2 - Yes, but not at 60 fps
X - No

Those are only based on the trailers I saw, that might change when I play them on a HD TV

Pretty much this.

Let's be honest here, Metal Gear Solid V looks ten times nicer than any game shown for any console, next-gen or otherwise

I do not agree. MGS5 looks great, but I'd put games like X, Uncharted 2/3, The Last of Us, and God of War Ascension above it visually.

Nice...I prefer Full 1080P @ 60 FPS though:

I'm going to wait for some sort of analysis before I'm conclusively convinced MK8 is 1080p; reps have misspoken on this matter before.

Not that I think the Wii U couldn't handle MK8 at 1080p/60fps, more that I expect them to get lazy; e.g. NSMBU was 720p.

Given that Platinum had 1GB of RAM at their disposal compared to less than 500MB on PS3/360, I'd say these scenes demonstrate quite a bit more than the 7th gen consoles can do.

None of those have as much long-distance detail as the cityscape in Bayonetta 2 during the final fight.

It's simple mathematics: 1GB > less than 500MB.

Those screen shots simply show producing visuals at par is possible on the PS360.

Could PS360 ports run as well or look as polished? Maybe not (assuming these games actually run at 60fps with 1080p), but that wasn't the question.

The question was whether they could run on PS3/360, not "could they run on PS3/360 if downgraded".

Anything could run on just about anything if you downgrade it enough.

But no, AS IS, without changing anything, no I don't think 360/PS3 could QUITE run those games. Mario Kart especially looks surprisingly impressive. I wasn't expecting THAT much of a jump, in fact I was expecting those kind of graphics for the 3D Mario, not MK. But they flipped it. Not that, as some suggest, Mario 3D World looks bad by any stretch. Just that MK's graphics look much flashier. What one would think when thinking "next gen".

X looks pretty damn detailed. I mean, to have that much detail up close in the distance, everywhere. I don't think X could run on PS360 in it's current form.

MK8- Yes but not in 60fps online with 12players.
Bayo2- Yes, but also probably not in 60fps.
X- No.

So short answer, no, PS3 would'nt be able to run these games.
