I'm no expert on both box I haven't even bothered looking at the actual specs of both.... but I think that's what walsufnir was trying to say.....

you could have a F1 next to a John Deer on the sheet they are obviously 2 motor engine working pretty much the same and with 4 wheels and all... but the tweaks of the john deer allow it to outperform the F1 any time on rough terrain....

Ahh, I like car-comparisons! No, jk, thanks for the effort to make my point even more clear!

That's a terrible comparison. Thats like comparing a chair to a cucumber. If you are hungry the cucumber will outperform the chair every time.

Didn't ms clarify there stance on the whole kinect/price of the console fairly recently. I think it was after they did a 180.

Ok, so make a Kinect free version and sell it for 399? I'd be more intrested.

Yea, this surfaced after that. I placed two tweets about it somewhere in the discussion. One where a MS rep said the 'rumors' were false and another where a guy claimed to have spoken to a MS insider (or something to that effect) who claimed it is true. But I believe the rumor is true in the sense that you can turn it off, rending it "not a requirement". That's a far cry from MS shipping a SKU without the Kinect. That's how most people have been interpreting it. With that said, I highly doubt it will be dropped since it seems important to the other services they want to implement, like TV. I think this makes sense when you consider what they shared recently about the Kinect and price. Releasing a SKU without Kinect would be bad for their overall plan - just my opinion.

Ya, though I don't like that it still has to be plugged in to the one to make it work. It takes up needless space since I prob won't use it very much if I get the one. The xbone seems to be centered around the use of the kinect in general.

In the grand scheme of things, it is a useless device for me. Where I live (and in the great majority of counties I visit) we are not on the support list, and I am inclined to think the great majority of those services won't materialize. I'm the kind of gamer that sits down on the couch and game with a beer or two, so the 'active gaming' MS wants to sell me with the Kinect is not my cup of tea. I'm not paying extra for it, especially since the PS4 costs 100 less and seems to have more games on stream.

Ya I'm the same. Ms honestly has shown why I should give a shit about the kinect gaming wise. It's just small extras added in if that. I don't see the point of shelling out an extra $100 to get it at this point. The ps4 and one both play pretty much the same games anyways. It's not like the wii u vs the hd twins scenario. The exclusives on both are great.

I'm in agreement. I love Halo and Gears and I intend to play both later. But the lack of support and extra 100 are deal breakers for me. I'll get the X, but much later when it is cheaper. It's hard for me to own both early since they are so similar, like you pointed out. Last gen third party exclusives were dwindling, but not dead, so owning both didn't seem redundant at the time (for the most part). Things are different now. Plus, the great majority of my friends are going on the PS4, so that's another factor I have to consider.
