Even if there is no kinect-less SKU I'd still like them to remove the requirement. It just makes me nervous and I'm sure I'm not alone.

Hey gooch Not sure if you noticed but the kinect game libary for Xbox 360 is huge ....So When you say it does not have a real use for gaming I think your not doing enough research...

Even at $399 they wouldn't dominate the US market.  For one, Sony has made a lot of new fans (or  maybe more accurately, won them back) because of their stance against DRM from the start.  And some that are going to buy a One are still saying they are buying a PS4, first, then a One.  Finally, and quite importantly, MS is going to be having supply issues for at least the first 6 months, if not more.  Sony, on the other hand, are going to be pumping plenty of PS4's into the marketplace.  For many who want a next gen system in the first 6 months - 1 year, the PS4 and Wii U are most likely going to be their only options.

I'd have to say I agree. Hideo Kojima recently (MGS) said it's nothing to make a fuss over. Which is interesting because his comments last time suggested the PS3 had a strong enough advantage against the 360, and look how that was all gen. Outside of exclusives, I don't expect much difference from multiplats. And even with exclusives it depends on the developers. Take Forza 5 vs DriceClub ... Forza 5 looks amazing imo. DC looks kool.

Seems to me it's not required in the sense you can turn it off, which =/= there's a possibility it won't be included.

He is close. It's 1.5x more powerful than the Xbox One. 1.2 TFlops, vs 1.8 TFlops.

Also, GDDR5 is far more expensive than the ESRAM addition in the X1.

In what universe 1.8 / 2 is close to 1.2?

Also we have this debate going on for a long time...
GPU is not the only thing that matter... And the difference is comprable to the one in the PS3/Xbox360.

And in this universe, few devs already said that it is negligable (even the MGS one; if you really believe Microsoft paid them too...).
So give me a break with the "much stronger" :)

Funny that everyone says this...both machines are nearly equal to eachother. same amount of ram but one has stronger ram while one is faster. the only big difference is the terraflops of each system.  Just look at the games that had actual gameplay from E3 they are not that different from eachother. PS4 is a more powerful system but not by a huge margin. Guarantee you that if Xbox One was sold without Kinect it would be $399 just like PS4.

I don`t see them selling it without Kinect though. The whole point of them selling it with Kinect only is because the machine was designed along side Kinect 2 and they want to assure developers that if they make features taking advantage of the device that all users will have the capabilities to do so.

It`s funny that Kinect being bundled with every system is such a big deal people still. If you look at the tech demo stuff for Kinect 2 it has the potential to do tons of readings and capabilites of doing things that are not even possible with the current Kinect. I barely use my Kinect on X360 but it is always plugged in.

I`m not paranoid about silly things like... OMG they are always watching me or OMG my privacy is gone!

It`s ridiculous that this is such a big deal since you can theoretically disable anything the device can do or even deny Microsoft from having permission to use any data off your Kinect.

People are making a big deal out of nothing. Unless you are complaining about price difference of PS4 & Xbox One that is...
