We can talk about the review scores and the ending all we want, but there’s one more aspect of The  Last of Us that we should be highlighting here. It’s the biggest game of the year so far, selling 1.3M copies in its first week, besting BioShock Infinite’s 1.16M sales over the same period, though you can take the unofficial numbers with a grain of salt.

Grand Theft Auto 5, Pokemon XY, BF4 and CoD Ghosts will probably top it, but impressive nonetheless.

Agreed. If the game is as good as everyone says, those sales figures are deserved.

What a swan song for PS3 and now it has no competition to keep selling over the Summer before GTA hits. Oh wait there's still Puppeteer, KH HD, and Beyond to get for PS3! Then I'll have PS4 and my Fall schedule is already pretty packed noooooooo!

None of these games are new IPs.
