Forums - Gaming Discussion - I want the XBOX ONE to Fail and Die.....Am I wrong to feel this way?

Another thread claiming that a Install game only console is anti consumer...grow up

You have had an anti-MS agenda on the IGN boards for years, so it's not surprising to me at all that you'd want the Xbox One to "fail and die". Just call it for what it is though, you simply don't like Microsoft. Don't try to sugarcoat it about being XBone features related or something.

As for whether or not you're wrong.. of course it's not wrong. People have biases for certain products and companies all the time and in all facets of life.

I assume you want Steam to die as well.

Not only do I want, I'm also 99% sure xone will fail extra hard with sub-vita performance. the good thing is when that happens there's achance M$ leave the gaming industry and sell rare's franchise's back to Nintendo.

I hope none of you people that want Xbox One to die actually grow up and have to experience the real world. You might not last long.

I don't really agree, to be honest. It's hard for me to believe in anything but, "if you don't like it, don't buy it." I think the term "anti-consumer" is mostly bullshit. In a capitalist world, there is no altruism in business. If Microsoft is the only one pushing the boundaries, it's because they're the only one who thinks they can get away with it. If the market doesn't like it, and it has choices, then they'll fail because of that, not because they've crossed some made-up ethical line in the sand. I don't really understand consumer entitlement and the outrage that comes from that.

I've never really shied away from relaying my personal disdain about Microsoft.  I've disliked Microsoft for many years now.

But even though I don't like Microsoft, I've never actually HATED the XBOX Brand.  I even admit that Microsoft's entry into the video game industry, while not perfect, has had more positive affect for gamers than negative.  Without Microsoft, Online gaming wouldn't have been as good as it is today.

But I literally HATE the XBOX One and what it stands for, and this is the first time in gaming history that I've felt this way.  The thing is, is I HATE the XBOX One with a purpose.

Anyone who has posted/lurked on IGN recently knows none of this is true. You have a bias against MS and Xbox and have for years. Like I said, nothing is wrong with that. But don't try to make it out to be something than it's not.

YES, fully agree. what microsoft has been doing with the Xbox One is something I feared and hoped gaming would never turn into. this isn't what it should be about. it should be like what it was back in the days of the N64 or PS1. It should be a toy, with fun games, that should be easy to set up and bring around the place, and share games with friends. not high budget cinematic games >:( gaming has gone worse enough as it is, and Nintendo is pretty much the only company that seems to be doing things right, for the most part anyway.

I think your sentiment is much too strong.
It's a new way of doing things and it should have the chance to do its thing. I'm not getting one, but if in the end it turns out to be good for the end consumer, we'll have to learn to live with that. We could never know how this would turn out if it never has a chance to do its thing.
