So guys, what about that story about EA being contractually obligated to release Madden and/or Fifa for every platform?

nintendo fans dont buy the games so why they bother

''I only buy nintendo consoles for nintendo games herp derp''

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Well, no support from EA on a Nintendo-console would be unprecedented though, but it is not nice to go onto Nintendo's own stage to announce that they won't support the console

No one buys them so whats the point in making them?

That would be a problem but EA will probably spin it around and say "we won't lose customers because no one will buy it on the WiiU"

I refuse to think this is all on the origin deal ending, this is PERSONAL at a higher grade than high

About damn time to finally stop playing.

Just what the hell happened between EA and Nintendo?..Do you guys think this is only because of Origin?...I'm not sure I buy that idea, there's something else there.

Fifa 72k
ME3 52k
Madden 32k
NFS 22k

I agree with you there, there's something else here, aside from Origin.

As far as EA is concerned, the Wii U is the second coming of the Dreamcast.

Can we blame them, look at what happen when they put their games on the wii U

Look at what they put on Wii U, though. Gimped, overpriced versions of old games. The kind of stuff you throw together just to have some sort of presence at launch. They could not have reasonably expected that garbage to shift many units, so I don't believe they're basing this on poor sales of their own software.

I might believe they're basing it on the overall negativity about the Wii U, but it seems more likely to me that something happened between the two that caused them to get sideways with each other. This is like EA vs. Sega all over again, but that was because EA had reservations about Sega's choice of hardware and just flat out refused to put anything on the Dreamcast at all. This situation is something that seemed to develop after the Wii U launched.

I wouldn't consider NFS w/ PC textures the gimped version.  It's just a fact that people aren't buying their games, regardless of quality.  And this goes for other 3rd party devs/publishers besides EA, too.  While those 3rd parties aren't saying anything, yet, with the little sales that their games are getting, I would imagine we will see 3rd party support for the Wii U dwindle.

Fifa 72k -- 2 months late, lacking content
ME3 52k -- 8 months late, lacking content, same price as ME Trilogy on PS3/360
Madden 32k -- 3 months late, lacking a lot of content
NFS 22k -- 5 months late, marginally higher quality than PS3/360 versions

Did they even try? They didn't release a single game for the console at the same time as the PS3/360 version. Not one.
