Man, these charts are going to be pretty ugly after KH3 releases. Is anything significant on the horizon likely to rise through the ranks soon to replace Smash or KH3? It's looking like the whole chart might end up being sub 50 points again. With the bottom of the charts being 13 points, it'll probably be back to single digits shortly after Christmas, if not shortly before.

Granblue Fantasy on PS4 will be humongous on COMG assuming there is any sort of pre-order bonus that ties into the online game.

Which is a big reason why most of the games will come after the holidays.

There's 7 games on this chart that release after the holidays ... hardly what I would call "most"

Maybe it's a stretch, but he's right though. The 7 PS4 games releasing after the holiday is the "most of" 13 which is the total number of PS4 games on the list.

It is a stretch and it doesn't matter, I expected he meant that while the chart is blue most of the time it is always Switch on top in HW sales.

If animal crossing is really first half of the year like people suggest, I would assume we would be able to preorder it in January. Also, fire emblem

There were rumors of a May release. But hopefully it will be spread out and not close to the Pokemon 2019 game.

looking at this chart and simultanously being aware that the Switch will annihilate the PS4 in holiday sales in JPN is pretty surreal

It also made me remember how people said Sony would lose 3rd party support to the switch. No such thing has happened.

It hasn't yet, but I feel that they will. Japanese developers were initially very hesitant to support the Switch, but now it is a proven success. Switch will soon outnumber PS in Japanese install base and unless Sony changes their new censorship rules I can't see the visual novel niche staying with them when developers have much less stringent rules on Steam and Switch. In general, I doubt we'll see a lot of companies go from PS exclusive to Nintendo exclusive, but I do suspect that many will multi-plat games that were formerly PS exclusive.

PS4 simply gets more games from 3rd parties and sells more games from 3rd parties so of course the chart would be blue. Despite poor HW sales, the attach ratio for PS4 remains strong. Things might change slowly, but that is simply how it is now.

Yokai Watch 4 should be the next "big" game.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.
