On neogaf some people expectation are too damn high. It has a similar pattern to splat2 but thats it. If the game does 300k in japan that would be an amazing result.

And splat2 sold 150k fw. If ARMS can do 100k that would be a good start. Im hoping for over 500k lifetime

Fire Emblem, Pokemon, Animal Crossing, etc coming down the line. No hurry to step on the 3DS just yet.

The PS4 isn't immune either. Most of the really big games in Japan like Tekken, FF, KH3, etc are still exclusive for now. But some studios are looking at their options. Though I guess those studios were on Vita.

I think Nintendo missed out on making (paying for) Dragon Quest Switch's launch to be aligned with the rest. That would have made the system's domination in the japanese market something definite.

Pokemon. Japanese market's fate's sealed.

That's a seperate, already guaranteed market. The idea is more to appeal to each and every major interest of the japanese gamer, to make sure that they don't have any reason to buy anything else.

Of course the switch will be successful, the idea was more to prevent anything else from being successful...

Bet with PeH:

I win if Arms sells over 700 000 units worldwide by the end of 2017.

Bet with WagnerPaiva:

I win if Emmanuel Macron wins the french presidential election May 7th 2017.

I'm pretty sure the first testfire was May 9th Japan time, so I'll point that out when we get to that day

Oh, I see your point. Well, Nintendo are notorious for letting opportunities slip right when they're ready to hit the jackpot. It's as if they want to have competition.

Nah, it's no skin off Nintendo's nose if the PS4 does well. It's already doing fine anyway. I don't think it would be healthy at all for the Japanese market to be monopolized by Nintendo.

Kill! Kill! Kill!

I mean... It's of course best if they can all thrive in an environnement of friendly competition :)
